I was enjoying playing the CC freerolls at these sites and had built a small amount in them, $30 in one and $11 in the other. Last weekend I received emails from both sites informing me that they do not offer gambling product to UK players. They advised me that balance had been transferred to sportsbook and to withdraw before the end of August.

I managed to withdraw with Bitcoin from the site where I had $30, but the other one with $11 is below the minimum withdrawal.

I emailed the site to ask for advice and have received reply that since these are freeroll winnings and require a deposit that I am unable to cash out.

Now these freerolls are CC freerolls. Am I right in thinking that CC pays the site to distribute the money?

Glad it was only 11 dollars in the end. I totally understand where the sites are coming from, online gambling in the UK requires a licence from the gambling commission. I am just interested in how they allowed me to sign up in the first place? I was only aware of the sites because of the freerolls here.

This is just a heads up to anyone from the UK who is playing the freerolls at the above sites.

Perhaps they no longer have a UK player license? This happens sometimes.

The same happened to me. Contacted support and never heard a thing from them. Asked for my balance to be donated to charity, which I am sure will not happen :(

All I can think is they must of lost the UK license.

I was just about to open a thread about this.

I got an email last night that because I live in the UK my account is cancelled.

I don't know when they stopped allowing the UK to play on their site, but I made a fake account just to see if they are still allowing people to sign up after reading very dodgy reviews about BOL.

Funny enough they welcomed "Billy" after signing up, there was no mention of not been allowed to play from the UK.

I'm not really arsed about it to be fair, I never really played on there. I did years ago when they had very low buy ins as I didn't have a lot of money on there, I had about $20ish. It was only freeroll money and I definitely won't be depositing just to get that out as it turns out you are more than likely unable to get your money anyway.

If a dodgy looking poker site has blocked you out, see it as a blessing. You haven't lost any real money and you won't lose sleep over it. That was my feeling when Duck Poker blocked me for no reason, I actually mailed them that they can keep my account closed, I could have said you can shove it up your ass, but I let my head do that while I laughed :D

Strange UK players not able to play any more makes no sense big market and many poker players from there seems ok to play these two sites from Dublin currently,
I remember a few years ago unibet stopped providing service when the law here changed and a licence fee was introduced I think for poker sites for awhile,
But they started service again later and my 4 or 5 dollars that I had forgotten about was still there hopefully that will happen in this case too.
