I know spending FTPs affects rakeback.. but how exactly does it work?

Say you're averaging getting about $35 a week in rakeback, and you saved up enough points to get a $70 tournament ticket.. would you not get rakeback for 2 weeks, since you're pretty much using $70 worth of FTPs.. or would you just not get rakeback for the week that you spent those points... or am I looking at this all wrong?

It hits your MGR for the amount of points used * .04. Then your rb is hit for that amount * .27. So it costs you $1.08 in actual RB for every 100 points spent.

edit..mine stays at a minus ammount if one week dosnt cover the ftp points I burn for somthing...

Does that just affect the rakeback for the week or does it continue to the following week until you make up for the ftps/rakeback spent?

I was looking at the $75 MiniFTOPS Main Event ticket for 15,000 FTPs (I'm not there, yet.. I have about 4K now), which would end up costing $162 in rakeback. If I'm getting $35-$40 a week in rakeback.. would that hit my rakeback for about a month or just the week that I spent those FTPs.. that's my main question.

I don't know if you know about FTPA but you can get a HUGE amount of points from that for just playing. I got a robe from only participating in the challenges. Don't change your play just take the free points. If you want me to suggest some good ones let me know.

I'm pretty sure it rolls over until you make the money back in rake, so the negative balance doesn't disappear until you earn that much rake.

Your calculation is incorrect because my post had a decimal point in the wrong place!!! Shame on you! :) It costs you .004 per point in MGR or $1.08 in rb per 1000 points! So the ticket would end up costing you $60 off your MGR and $16.20 away from your RB. Sorry about the mistake earlier. I thought it looked wrong but didn't check it.

Okay, that makes more sense! lol

I was thinking.. "well, if it ends up costing you $162 in rakeback for a $75 ticket.. then what's the point of spending FTPs?"

Thanks everybody! Especially Vfranks and WV!
