I was playing on a tourney at cdpoker. I was in the 600/300 blinds and short stacked. The question I have is I folded on the small blind and then was transfered to another table where I was put right on the big blind again. . I mean I had terrible hands on all 4 blinds and folded but was out 1800 on 600/300 blinds. Blinds 4 times in a row, is this right! I always thought if you just came of the blinds and were moved to another table they set you according or close to according to where you came off the blinds. I need some Knowledge on this please!!

chadford,
I'm sorry this happended to you, but online it does happen all the time. You almost have to take it and go on with what's left of your game. I think most of the sites do this but not sure if all do though.
I know it's crappy and I don't know if there is much you can do about it. I have often wondered about this myself because in live tournaments if you are that close to the button when moved they usually make you wait till after the button.

If you contact the pokersite to ask them please post the answer. I know I can't be the only one that wants to know the answer.

I think there are some areas that each site kind of makes their own rules and this may be one. Here's another example:

When you join a ring game at most sites, they make you wait until you are 1 after the button. Not Poker.com. They let you join on the button for the price of the BB. IMHO, not quite fair but I guess that's a subjective area. Gotta just roll with it, I guess.

a person at cdpoker . I emailed them this morning about the issue but have yet got a response. I would like to hear their explanation on this.

im pretty sure they do it randomly, chadford
when someone busts, it leaves an open spot, and at some point or another 10 of those spots open up, and they break up a table and seat the players from that table randomly in those open chairs.
It just sounds like you got a bad run of luck and got placed in the blinds continuously ( i'd be pretty pissed too :/ )

Happens randomly - sometimes it's kind to you, sometimes it isn't. If you're too short-stacked, then you maybe have to pick a hand and push, to defend one of those blinds, but it's just harsh when it's so unfortunate.

I believe also that it is all random. I have had the same experience and I have had the opposite experience as well. I had a tourny that moved me tables a few times in 15 min. but I ended up missing the blinds for 4 rounds which helped me get to the money in that tourny. It is unfortunate what happened, but it would help to know your chipstack at the beggining of the blind frenzy.

Finally received a reply from CDPoker

Dear Chad,

I hope all is well.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the Blinds in Multi tables, the poker software selects which player moves table and from time to time a player may end up paying more than one big blind in a row.

However, since you are an important VIP player I would like to compensate you with a Token to our Dirty Dozen jackpot Sit&Go.

The Dirty Dozen jackpot Sit-N-Go is another member of our jackpot Sit-N-Go family. The DD's is a two tables - 6 players per table tournaments, (with a buy-in of $2 + $0.35/ Token). The winner of 4 consecutive Dirty Dozen's wins a jackpot prize of $2,000.

You will find your Token in the software, at the "my account" section, under the"cdpoints" tab.

Good luck,

Chad,
Thanks for posting their answer here. I'm kind of surprised that of the small reward too. Good luck for the token into the DD sng.

Yeah it sucks when you get moved after the blinds into them again but the oppisite is always nice when you get to miss the blinds for a few rounds. I'll have to remember to email support next time I notice that happens to me.

lol, they compensated you?

I'm not sure whether to say "Wow, their support owns" or "Wow, their support is stupid".

I'm pretty sure it's random at every poker site, isn't it?

I've never seen a site that shuffles player positions within the same table, so it would stand to reason that they have no choice but to fill the holes, whether it be at BB or the button or wherever.

The support presumably knows that a little give will help ensure that the players stay, which is more important than a couple of dollars - I'm quite impressed by them giving a decent answer and additionally giving you a freebie which they really didn't need to give... it suggests them being willing to go a little further than many to try to keep their players interested.

Exactly. I was moved 4 times within 10 minutes in a turbo tourney. Each time I was placed in the SB and the I was moved after the button passed, so I wasn't dealt in for 8 straight hands. It's just the way things worked out. I was eliminated shortly after since I was short stacked and the blinds increased twice since I had last seen a card. Tough break, but that's the way it goes some times.

Unfortunately it is random, but to say "this is the way online poker is" is actually a false statement because if you was playing live exactly the same thing could happen to you.

It is just unlucky and, just like bad beats, these kinda things even themselves out over time and there will be periods where you will be moved out of the blinds and onto the button!

Its all in the programming.

There are some sites that when you are moved sit you out until next hand.

Others I've been moved every hand to play in blind position 3 or 4 times in a row.

I would email support and ask them to modify this next time they do a upgrade.

its happened to all of us some point or another, the only thing here to say is if that happens dont let yourself get to short stacked. Personally I think I would of made a move in one of those blind hands.
