Hello all Im new to this site and new to online poker BUT I play alot of poker for about four years seriously in the casinos {ie foxwoods and atlantic city}I play cash games sit gos and I really love tournament poker .Oh no limit hold em is really all I play sometimes limit.Any way Im not abig computer guy but over the last year Ive gotten in to playing online and in the past month or two I have really started to get used to it.I really would like some advice as to were I should put my time and energy .I want to start really playing in the money games because up till now I havent really trusted it I have played some money games on full tilt but Im not sure if I like full tilt Can anyone recommend a trust worthy site and is fulltilt one of them I was reading a post a guy put up labled cant win money or something like that from today. Now I do understand brm and I have cashed three out of six times under my girlfriends account on fulltilt now I no I shouldent do that but it was all small money and I WAS JUST REALLY PLAYING FOR HER so please this isnt the topic.I wont do it again thats why Im here I want to set up my own account but Ican relate to the guys post It feels like the site is setting me up to lose alittle to often really crazy river bad beats .Im paronoid to begin with and it just felt like no matter what it wasnt going to let me win the tornament I got wise to it and started folding stuff that Iwould never fold just to avoid the set up .Anyway the guy in the other post problems sounded the same and he was at a diffrent site.so I dont know If any one could give me there point of view I would appreciate it.NOW again I do understand anything could happen in poker and I have seen it all But it did feel like fulltilt was not going to let me win no matter what I tried .Badbeat after badbeat people winning with runner runner all kinds of crazy stuff .Im not saying it is true I have not played there enough to know and I did manage to get through thousands of other players before it started happening but every time I got to the last hundred and less and esspecially at final table it was like I was being set up it was alittle odd I would like to know what site is the best to play at and most realistic.AND does anyone know how they go about making sure that these sites are for real SORRY TO TALK SO MUCH but Im eager to set up a account and dont know where to do so.Thanks for your time and look foward to getting to know all of you

When I first started, I used to think that these bad beats were suspicious. But after playing thousands of hands, on many different sites: pokerstars, betfair poker, william hill poker, Full tilt and ultimate bet aswell as live. There is nothing worse online than live.

I signed up to full tilt at first, and didnt like the layout, so I joined stars. I really enjoyed their layout and more variety of games, so stuck there for a while. I've since went back to fulltilt, but would recommend both of these for the player just starting out online.
Just start out freerolling or in the micros and build your game and a steady bankroll from there.

Hope I helped a bit and good luck

Online poker isn't fixed...But I think they have to satisfy the majority of their players who are basically fishies with no understanding of the game and who would stop depositing if they didn't win with bad cards.
Plus a lot of them are maniacs who enter many hands and who actually have a large enough stack to donk around...so yes you will be seeing a lot of unbelievable river cards!I still haven't got used to it!

FullTilt is where its at. Haha honestly you will not find a consensus here. Its best to try out a few different poker sites and just see what you like. The majority of players play at FullTilt or PokerStars, but other sites can be kind of cool. I tried out Bodog for a while, and it felt like the players there were all pretty bad. Cake poker seemed pretty soft as well.

Also - VERY IMPORTANT - sign up for the poker site under a rakeback affiliate (or under cardschat). I don't believe pokerstars has rakeback, but before you make your account at fulltilt you should definitely look into getting rakeback. Its very hard to get rakeback at fulltilt after you have already created an account.

A close friend of mine who is very good on computer poker talked me into playing full tilt poker. He came to my home and spent several hours helping me get the feel of the game. I knew poker from my days in the Marines, but this was totally new. He plays many different poker on other programs, but I'm not for CHANGE at my age 72. I learned on Full Tilt and my coach got me set up on poker stars and I found it not as user friendly as Full Tilt and as to date I have played very little on Poker Stars. Most likely will continue to use both, but Full Tilt the majority of the time.
Each day I find something new on Full Tilt and so far like the finds and have started using them. I'm sure many of the programs are good, but in my opinion it usually is the first one you learn that you usually fall back on. Getting into some freerolls and looking down the line for other games that I would be interested in. Have the good day.
Hope this give a little insight and good luck and lots of fun.
