Was wondering what people thought the best site for a newer player with small BR would be. So far ive been looking at PS the most. They have a lot of micro sng games going wich is where i plan on starting out at.
Ive played on FT in the past and like there set up, but as of late i have been seeing a lot of people saying they have had problems getting payed out or it taking a really long time to get paid out.
Ive also played on bodog, players only and Lock sites. Ive pretty much rulled out bodog, dont much care for the layout and set up there.
Like i said, going to start with a really small BR, like around 20$.
Any suggestions?

most advice i've seen says
either FT or PS or both.
i play on full tilt but i'm thinking
of opening a PS account thru cardschat
lots of freerolls and micro on both.

Was looking closer at PS, but ive played on Lock for one of thier free rolls and really like thier layout, does anyone have any exp playing on lock at all?
I am a big fan of SnG single table tourney, PS and FT both offer plenty of these, but i also like to play the DoN SnG, of wich FT has none and PS has replaced with the fifty 50, and i dont like that set up at all.
I know Lock has the DoN but they dont have many running at one time, and they dont offer any normal SnG unless its a turbo game or someother variation of NLHE.
Im still too new to the game to want to play turbo or anyother aspec other then the normal blind times.
So im kind of stuck as to what to do. I know that many have accounts on multiple sites, but i really only want to make a deposit on one of them to start with until i get going.
Also does anyone know of a good option other then a credit card to make a deposit>?

FT and PS are very large sites and they have tonnes of sharks playing there, even at the micro limits. However they do have tonnes of traffic so finding a game to suit you is easy. I have played on PS and FT quite a bit and find FT to be the better of these two. I play a bit on UB and CAKE also and find these sites dont have the same amount of sharks, so my bankroll is building much faster there. Just make sure that you have set yourself up correctly so you can get all the rakeback benefits possible. If you type in rakebackreferrals to google you will find some nice sites which will offer you extra cash back bonuses if you join them. PS dont offer rakeback they have their own cash bonuses, FT offer 27%, UB 30% and I think CAKE offer 33%. Thats 30 cents paid back to you for every dollar that the site takes from you in rake at UB. UB also offers micro limit heads up games which is a great place to start builiding your bankroll. Good luck with it all dude.

Yea ^^^

rakeback is awesome.
But, also definitely check out how high rake is on each site.
If your decision is down to PS and FT then I know that FT charges lower rake at the micros (at least until the $6+50 level).

If you can get rakeback then I don't see how FT isn't a clear choice of the two. I haven't played anywhere else to give any advice on them.

I like FT and Pstars. For me, they are better compare to others.

I have ended up putting a very small deposit on Lock poker (10$)
I like the table look and the way the game plays, I also am a fan of the DoN sit n goes they have. Just started playing today, doing the 1 and 2$ DoN tables, have only played 4 games, 1 of the 1$ and 3 2$ tables. Placed in the money in 3 of 4 games. I know its very slow starting esp since most Sit n go players play mulit tables at once, but i want to get a feel for it before i start doing more then one at a time. Im in no rush, so ill take my time and try to learn as much as i can with the lower buy ins.

Does Lock Poker allow U.S. Players?

If so, please update on how you like it...

yep they allow US players on Lock.
So far i like it fine, been playing the DoN stt micro levels. Have won more then i have lost but im taking it slow. They games can be a bit slower to fill up compared to a place like FT or PS but i havnt had to wait any longer then a few mins to get one going at the 1-2$ levels.

Lock poker = the merge network. So the same players as Carbon, Players Only, etc. As you build your bankroll you will realize that the minimal traffic and lack of games makes PS and FT 100x better. And in the DoN games when you reach the $5+ level you will find a whole bunch of regulars. pokerstars got rid of the DoNs for a reason, collusion is easy and very profitable in them.

in any ring game (cash).

I have too say ... same

FULL TILT and poker stars

Look for promos like Take 2, or any regional freerolls, Poker Stars has an Australia Regional Freeroll that also plays for standing on monthly leaderboard.

hi

I like Fulltilt better than all the others. PokerStars micro buyin sit'ngoes have 10x worse players in them than on Fulltilt and I honestly do not have the patience for them. The other sites just don't seem to have enough player traffic on them compared to those two. For me it would be an easy choice. Fulltilt all the way baby!:D

Why wouldn't you want to play against bad players?
By choosing to play against better players, you're throwing money away.
I agree that it can be frustrating at times, but facing bad players increases your profit (this is why table selection is important once you get to higher stakes).

Oh, btw, I found that the play at Tilt is much worse than the play at stars.

If you are getting started I would look for a site with a solid signup bonus... Clear a bonus and break even on your play and you could easily double your bankroll...

Does Pokerstars now accept US credit cards? I haven't tried to deposit there in over a year, but I have been declined in the past.
