Hi all.

I`m playing 2 sites atm, Ladbrokes & Party.

Trying to work out the benefit of sticking to these 2 sites or play on more.

Obvious advantage of playing one site is that all of the player points will be accumilated on the same site - I guess that must help.

Advantage of multi sites is not getting bored?

Any thoughts guys?

What do the top players do?

"It depends" lol.
Alot of the MTT regs. will obviously be playing on multi-sites so that they can enter all of the big buyin MTT's (one site wouldnt' be enough).
For a micro donk like myself, the advantages of playing on multiple sites includes -> clearing sign-up bonuses & always being able to find a game I want to play (some sites the traffic is low in games I play & is busier at different times of the day).
I also find I prefer to play 6max & FR on one site, SNG's on a couple others, & MTT's on a couple of others. (ie. when I'm playing MTT's I prefer to play 4-6 at-a-time, so I'll likely enter 2 of them on one site staring maybe 15mins. or 30mins. apart & then another one at the same time on another site... & another couple from another).
Some sites I play on the SNG traffic is terrible but there's a handful of MTTs I like that have good structures (obv play mtt's there).

Also in micro stakes, some sites you'll find weaker play on than others (but less traffic). This motivates some to play there (obv for good reason, lol).

So... it really 'it depends'.

I mostly and when I say mostly I mean like 90% of the time just play on Full Tilt but when I need a break I might play on one of three other sites: Carbon, UB, or pokerstars, but like I said thats usually very rarely and carbon and UB are usually just the freerolls done by cardschat and I dont usually make it to those. Just too much of a headace trying to keep up with a bunch of tourneys on a bunch of different sites.

I'm guessing it's very rare indeed that you get out to play the CC UB freerolls... considering there haven't been any for awhile now, lol.. sigh...

i play mostly at merge and ip-network sites.
merge for sng-mtt, sng fill quick eough and mtt not so massive fields.
ip for ring games and cheap mtt/good return(1/2 dollar freeze)

besides that i play selectif games at stars/tilt/32red and cake.

i find that playing at 2 sites and sometimes at the other 4 improves
my game, because i get loads off different types of opponents.

ip = no usa players and merge is a lot eastern european players,
whose play stiles are very different.

also avoid the bad run on 1 site that there always will come and can
switch easy to another site .

for bonusses more sites are better also if working with a limeted bankroll.
i profit from all the deposit/redeposit bonusses, see how often get special
offers if not regulair deposit/withdraw :)

I play on Full Tilt for my rakeback, and maybe 20% on Pokerstars for a change of scenery and game (love the mental NL omaha SnG's).

Used to play Laddies but my comp wont run it at full speed - plus I used to donk off most of my winnings in the casino bit!
Do they still have the 'double end' SnG's where first and last place both cash?

The benefits of playing loads of sites are
A)Opening a real-money account can open freerolls for depositing players only,
B) You get a first-deposit bonus to clear and
C) you will get offers of free cash, free unlockable bonuses e.mailed from various sites all the time. i.e. FT poker may run a free $100 to unlock in June, then in July it might be Stars, so you can switch them up fir the best bonus.

It is better to concentrate on one or two sites though, simply to build up the frequent player points. They don't often amount to much, but better than nothing.

My biggest thought is if you play lots of sites could you be spreading your loyalty points too thin?

That very much depends on whether you play ring games or tournies. Loyalty schemes are usually aimed at cash players and are almost irrelevant to the rest of us.

Basically, I would suggest that cash players pick a single site and focus their play there in order to maximise points, bonuses and rakeback. Tourney players would do better to have multiple sites available, as player benefits are small for MTT players, and the wider choice of games will usually be more useful.

Says the man who plays 32 sites :D

I agree and just wanted this confirmed by one of the top boys ;)

I`m a mtt/ sng player in the main and u r dead right - more sites = more mtt`s available all of the time.

Thanks all

Ive only played on Full Tilt. I dont want to be depositing on multiple different site because I dont have the $$ to do so :) But I guess I just feel comfortable on Tilt so Ive never tried another one.

To me the biggest benefit of playing on one site is if you collect RB on that site. Also the loyalty programs.

Playing at all of the sites is good for someone trying to build a BR. You will have the opportunity to play in a lot of Freerolls and low buy in games that way.

I think for the most part when you are starting out you will play a lot of sites. then you will find the one you like the most.

I play at PS, FTP and AP. I also play the FRs at Carbon.

I get RB at AP and Carbon so in the long run I will most likely end up playing at those two sites the most.

What about the MTT players who are regularly paying $800->$1,000+ in tourney fees each & every week? (hee hee hee...). I get what you're saying though, & also agree but it did get me to thinking, "I wonder how much some of the MTT regs. pay in tourney fees each week?"
A low estimate 20mtts/day x 4days, avg.buyin $100 = $800
I know of other players though who'll be playing 40+mtt's per day, along with 50+ 45plyr. sng's and a few dozen 90's (slightly smaller avg.buyin though, closer to $50). Some of these guys must be paying a small fortune (multiply that by 100 and you'll get an idea of what someone like Howard Lederer could/might be earning? lol).
