Showing the cards @Full Tilt Poker

How does one do that?!

Sometimes mine are shown automatically and sometimes not, however, is there a way to choose whether to show them or not?

Yes--unless you have auto-muck turned on. If you're not getting this option, go to Lobby>Auto Muck hands. Uncheck this and you will be able to show your cards.

That being said...what makes you want to show your cards...

To show your cards or not to show - That's a big question and we're not the first to discuss it

When playing at REAL poker tables, sometimes I like to show that I had a very good hand... It make people fear you when you raise a little the next time and think you bluff when you raise a lot (as "you can't possibly be lucky again")
So, I saw some players sometimes showing their cards, and I wanted to at least have the option to do that as well

I don't usually show my cards, I would rather keep them guessing. Unless of course I have bluffed quite a few hands in a row I like to show the nuts. Or if I have a really great hand like a royal or straight flush I have to show those.

I muck almost every hand unless it's a good hand. If you wanna see what I got just call my raise!

I believe in zero knowledge - Show nothing - Give nothing away.

Showing a bluff could be helpful if you don't bluff often and are hoping to encourage calls when you do have a hand.

It would be nice to be able to show just one card instead of both but FT doesn't support that option.

I like to keep the option open so I turn off auto muck but seldom show my hand.

When I think of the players who are difficult to play against, they are the ones who take down pots but NEVER show anything they don't have to. It's a puzzle that can be hard to solve. As soon as you give free information, you've given out some free clues to your play. Since I find the no-show players to be the biggest puzzles, it follows that I want to use that technique myself. Never show. Never.

Players who feel the need to show off their bluffs are merely satisfying their own egos. Creating a bad vibe? Maybe. Perhaps it would be enough to put a tilty opponent over the edge. But who are you fooling if you do that? Any decent player knows exactly what you're up to. Thanks for the info, I say.

It's much more effective if you can pull off a good bluff and leave them wondering.

However, if you're sure you want to show off one card, you can do it on Carbon.

My opinion is :let them guess or call to see my cards.

To show or not to show--That is the question....

I DO like to have the option to show or NOT to show.......I WILL show a really good hand once in a while just to let 'em know I WASN'T bluffing--that they WERE beat.......AND I like to show an occasional bluff just to let 'em know I DIDN'T have a good hand--but beat 'em ANYWAY! And THAT keeps 'em guessing! They NEVER know, nor can they really figure out WHAT I have----"Is he bluffing THIS time??? Does he have a monster??"

IMHO showing your cards is just another tool in your poker tool bag. But it is a tool that should only be used in a very specific context and for a very specific reason as all of your other poker tools are used. Use the tool too often and in the wrong ways and the tool dulls it's edge and ends up not doing the job it was intended for and can come back to hurt you.

I stick with no show. Gotta pay to see.

Bluffing is part of poker and I expect every player will bluff at one time or another. If I really want to know, I'll call what I think is the bluff. A small price to pay for good information at the right time.

Anyone can bluff, not everyone will call a bluff, even if they 'think' it is.

• As a rule, one should never show a hand, "they" should pay to see
• An exception should be when one has a VERY good hand (e.g. Quad or Royal...)
• If one bluffs a lot, showing a good hand every once in a while will keep people wonder and never "know" (i.e. think they know) if one is bluffing or not

As always this is complex
But as said above - Zero knowledge leads to confusion - And that is what one seeks to do - Confuse the opponent.

Pay to see

I never show my cards,if somebody does not believe me,he just have to come and find out.......!
And basically if u never show u'll find someone that comes at the showdown when u'll have the best hand and that will give me credit at the table.From that moment i'll bluff a little bit more...

On FT, if you want to show, you have to act quickly. It only gives you a couple of seconds to react. Just an FYI.

I NEVER show unless i dont mean to click show. I just would rather keep my style of play 100% to myself rather then people knowing bits and pieces.

In a cash game you dont want to show your cards at all. it gives too much information. If your in a tourney and get moved to a new table and have been playing strong but dont want someon to suck out on you you might show the first hand you play if its really good. Otherwise why give up that added info.

I don't mind showing really amazing hands, but yeah,not something to do often.

People who show there bluff cards, can irritate you a little bit, if you folded.

showing your cards is a foolish thing to do, as it just enables your opponents to get more and more reads on you as they better understand your playing styles. In fact, I turned on the auto-muck feature.

actually if the hand is played all the way down, you cannot hide your hole cards. All anyone at the table has to do is click the last hand button and it will bring them up. Thats actually how i make most of my notes. I do keep auto muck on though because it makes the game move even faster even though i know anyone can see my hand as long as it gets paid off regardless. The only time your hand stays hidden is if nobody pays for it and it gets folded after the flop,turn or river and then your info stays safe with you. Hopefully that answers your question.

Online i hate showing my cards if i don't need to but when i play live if i had something good and someone fold i normally show them one card and generally it the worse of the 2 cards.

I'll show a bluff early on at a table, especially since I normally play loose. It gets a lot more callers later on for me, which allows me to decide when to push all in with stronger hands.
Of course, with my raises getting re-raised often, it sometimes forces me to call to the flop, just to remove the image of trying to steal blinds with garbage.
So maybe not showing bad hands is a better idea?

the only thing about that is on your next bluff it might bite you in the ass when they are so more willing to call you when you want them to fold... i am never for showing cards winning or loseing just me
