Should I Focus on 1 Site? If so Which One?

I primarily play on pokerstars and Full Tilt. In recent months I've been trying best I can to divide my poker time evenly between the 2 sites.

I'm now wondering if it wouldn't be a better idea to focus on one site. Try to maximize the player loyalty rewards?

I am a micro player, but I do plan on putting in a fair amount of volume this year. Still given the low stakes does a player loyalty program make a big enough impact?

If the answer is yes, then I'm torn on which site to choose. I like both, but for different reasons.

The traffic on Stars is much better of course, and they have lower buy-in multi-table sng's that I enjoy playing. Full Tilt just doesn't have the traffic to make them feasible anymore.

However, Full Tilt has the On Demand Rush tourneys which I enjoy also. Pokerstars doesn't seem to have an equivalent.

As for cash games, I like both about equally. I haven't noticed one site to have a weaker field than the other, but if anybody has a different view on this I'd like to hear it.

How much are you paying in rake and fees? It would seem like knowing this, or finding out if you don't already know, is the first step toward making an informed decision.

IMO if looking to make headway in the points programs of either site then it would certainly be worthwhile to focus on a single site, granted at the micros especially if dealing with cash games PS has a much lower rake than does FTP, some info in a thread I had on a similar topic last year https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-rooms-10/ps-rewards-vs-ftp-edge-231252/.

It's a situation essentially driven mainly by what you prefer to play and how micro you are playing, for example stt's (ps micro is 1.5, ftp micro is 0.5 so big diff depending on the bankroll your working with). Stars is great for the traffic as games are always going and you don't have to wait like I find you do on ftp but i do enjoy the ftp software and play between the two although have found where I plan to put my main focus and most likely will be availing to stars for volume reasons.

imo should be ps, there are several reasons, the software and the layout are great, the support is quick, and they have a lot of fun promos, ande a great variety of games, cash or mtts and the traffic is too high which allows to play anything almost immediately, but also the games have a lot of people playing bingo (i think more than full tilt for example)

If I could get like a 10/15$$ bankroll on a site I'd probably stay on that site

my suggestion would be to try a bunch of different sites. PS and FTP are great sites, but you might find that your playing style works better at a site like Bovada or bodog- The best way to find out is to try it out. Furthermore, depending on what you like to play you will find different options at different sites.

If you are a micro player and want a good rewards program, I would say that neither PS or FT is good for low stakes player. I would prefer an ipoker room, like Paddy or winner poker that offer better rewards for micro. But, between PS or FT, I would go with PS.

Most ppl play on multiple sites and you said it yourself.... FTP and PS are slightly different and each has its advantages. You might pick one site where you gonna play more often, but I wouldn't abandon other one entirely.

If your going to choose to play on only 1 site...id recommend pokerstars...they have a better VIP program...better tourneys and sngs and the gtds for scheduled MTTs are much better...fulltilt doesn't get much traffic nowadays and the gtds aren't good....most of the fields are very small other then FTOPS and MiniFTOPS....try out both and see which one works better for ya...if your focusing on getting a VIP Goal choose pokerstars

I used to play on several sites (still do occasionally) but now i just concentrate on Pokerstars, starting to build up a good amount of FPP's which will go towards satellites and there freeroll's.

If you plan to add some volume I think 2 sites arent too much. Depends on what games are you playing. If you play only cashgame, then I think its good idea to play on one site. Maybe pick one when you can get nice rakeback. If you play tournaments and SNGs you can play on more sites, cause every site has some different games and tournaments in different time you know...

you can focus on one site, but think i would leave yourself the flexability to play in "good" games on other sites- always nice when you accidentally build a bankroll
