So ive played at Full Tilt for the first 2 months of my poker "career" playing cash games 6 max. Someone told me recently that I should move to Stars because of the rakeback and because of the amount of players there and its the biggest site.

Sometimes on Full Tilt finding a good table is really hard, and at certain times during the day the tables will be full of regs. This is just down to the lack of people playing on the site. Its happened a lot more recently which is why im making this thread.

Its no trouble at all transferring my BR to Stars as they are linked.

So should I move? Would you say there will be worse players on Stars, obviously more tables, but what is the rakeback like?

Thanks guys for any thoughts and opinions

ftp is typically softer than stars, you will have your fish and regs on both for sure and the pool size essentially should allow you to table select better "in theory".

micro rake on stars is lower than ftp, so you are going to get much less rakeback in way of vpp/fpp's than you would on ftp if you are of silver status or above and actually getting rakeback from the edge status. Generally paying the lower rake would be the +EV IMO but also depends on if you are winning overall or not. If your breakeven say and the rakeback gives you a boost to bring you above breakeven I'd probably stay there and improve, but only way to find out really is put in a comparable # of hands on stars and see how you fair (obviously under assumption you have put in enough hands on ftp to determine a winrate).

Good luck with which ever you choose.

thats all wrong....If you are paying less rake that money stays in your bankroll. at stars 5nl you'll be paying 4.15% rake and capped at 1$ compared with 5% rake and 2$ cap at full tilt.in reality its unlikely that the caps will be hit at 5nl. silver at FTP is worth 10% rakeback but that still means that you will be paying 4.5% rake effectively at full tilt compared with 4.15% at stars.

Everything is better at stars...especially traffic.

Lots of regs tho...if you know how to play vs nits and TAGs you'll be fine.

whats hard to understand. if he rakes 100$ at fulltilt , at stars he'd have paid 83$ in rake. silver then gives him 10$ back in rakeback so he'd have paid 90$ in rake. this still leaves him 7$ better off at stars.
he'll earn 1000 FTPs at full tilt which is roughly 3$ of ring game ticket value. at stars he'll get 83*5.5 or 456 fpps or roughly $4.56 when cashed in at the store.so he's 7$ better off ny paying less rake and his points value is roughly $1.56 more at stars making him $8.56 better off playing at stars than FTP .

? And ur points of saying I'm wrong and then basically saying exactly the same thing I said is my point, thus why I said you obv didn't understand what I said. I stated stars rake is lower. My point on perhaps if only breakeven before rakeback and thus stay at ftp because essentially ftp is softer than stars and therefore even tho paying lower rake on stars its very possible he will be losing in the long run. Anyhow I degress because u are saying essentially the same thing I already said but saying I'm wrong.

I would give Stars a shot. But I wouldn't leave or even stop play @ Tilt until you are completely satisfied. I think the traffic is what ruins it for me. I like regs, but then Im stupid, so maybe dont listen to me.

There's nothing wrong if you want to try pokerstars.
-Its easy to transfer funds from FT to PS or vise versa, just pair your accounts.
-If you cant find games you want at FT at any given time, you can check at the other one and vise versa.
-You can find micro games at pokerstars.
-Many players at pokerstars, game easily fills up.
-You can grab promos not on one site but two.
GOODLUCK...
