Senior Online Tournaments

I read your blog about seniors playing poker. It was both informative and quite hilarious. I myself, was looking forward to playing in the wsop Super Seniors this year, as I turn 65 two months before it starts. I thought that it would give me an advantage, being one of the youngest in the tournament, because it does require stamina, patience and a good bladder. So, what does WSOP do??? They change the age requirement to 60, which means I would be facing off against all those "youngsters" in their early 60s.
In another forum post, I was warned about the play at a seniors event. Extreme patience is a must.

Pensioners do not live badly either, and if they play poker, then it's paradise, not life!

I'll inform my grandfather about this senior poker room,he likes to play(I learned with him)but he's no interested lately.I try to make him play back again.

If you are planning to be in LV during this summer’s live WSOP I would recommend playing in a low stakes senior event if this is your first attempt. Both the Golden Nugget and Planet Hollywood had lower buy-in MTTs this past summer. Both were well attended with 200 + participants for under $300. Great places to get some playing time and the possibility of a decent payout. No where near the prestige of WSOP but no where near the competition level either. Schedules are not out yet but they will be soon. Both these venues and others (Orleans, Venetian, etc.) also have open NLH tournaments without the pressure of WSOP during the same time periods.
