Why do you think there are so many players from Russia and brazil at the most popular poker room? And what will happen to pokerstars if they lose this market?

in this room there are not only many representatives of these countries
but this room at one time tried to pursue a policy in this direction in order not to lose its clients, including from Russia.

Probably because in these countries pokerstars ran a good advertising campaign. I think if they lose this market they will not be much poorer, as many players from other countries play pokerstar.

maybe because of number of population? marketing? can be a various reasons...
of course pokerstars would lose a lot of money if Russian and Brazilians leave the room/site, this is a simple math, guys...

I would be very happy if Russia and Brazil don't play

you do not know how to play well and do not allow others to play quietly all -in all the time

Because most players from these countries are grinders, and grinders love places, where they can easily get volume. If PokerStars was forced to withdraw from these two markets, it would hurt volume and profits in the short run. In the long run however it might not make so much difference, because the games would become softer, and recreational players from other countries would then lose their money more slowly and stay longer.

And also in Russia crisis, and the dollar is valued

We Brazilians total 209 million. 6th largest population in the world. It is normal for us to be numerous in the poker rooms.

I think the main reason is the size of the population. Two large countries, it is logical that there are many participants. The poker room does not benefit from losing its members.

It's all about the standard of living in these countries, the average amount that you can earn on poker is quite good money in these countries, I don't know how in Brazil, but in Russia there are still a lot of sites, forums, blogs, streams dedicated to poker that popularize this game, plus any word "free" attracts them to the game.:)

They will then expand their market to other countries. There is always a way out. The Americans were lost and nothing changed in terms of profit.

Both of them are very large population countries with a combined population of almost 350M. That probably explains it. You would expect Russians and Brazilians to outnumber Belgians by 30 to 1 for that reason alone.

And there's one other factor. Both of them have relatively low cost of living compared to western Europe and canada, and lower pay in absolute terms for many professional jobs. Yet they are rich enough that internet and computers are not rare. So making a few bucks an hour is just a mildly profitable fun hobby in Canada, but if you can do it in Brazil, it may be as good as you can do at many regular jobs, or a substantial supplement to your family income. For someone in a much poorer country it might be like a fortune, but things like reliable internet, computers, or even basic education may be so out of reach that they can't get to it.

I do not represent that there would be no players from Russia and Brazil on the PS.Pokerstars, Russia and Brazil are one:)if these countries are not on PS, the game will be boring. So without Russian and Brazilian players, you can pack your bags and look for another room)

I didn't know there was such a thing as a quiet all-in. :p

You might want to watch some of the wsop final table streams on YouTube, there are a lot of excellent players from Brazil that put up solid results.

We Brazilians total 209 million. 6th largest population in the world. It is normal for us to be numerous in the poker rooms.

Yes, this about sums it up - pretty much common sense really.

In russia, pokerstars ads are shown on all channels, or almost all)

There's a lot to be said about the power of advertising, and as someone else mentioned, the standard of living. If you are in a poorer country and are a winning player on PokerStars, you're making more money than you would at a regular job in that country.

There are Russians and Brazilians everywhere!! I remember they did a lot of advertisement back in the days with Ronaldo, so probably that explains in part why there are so many of them in PS.

That being said, it's so annoying to play with them. They are very aggressive and they go all-in all the time. Worst part is that least experienced players call them with trashy hands, which give them an early lead and then they can just bully other people.

On the bright side, that has taught me patience, to just wait and wait until I have a good hand and then be very agressive too.

Poker is very popular in Brazil and the scene is getting better/bigger!
The are huge numbers of players on every poker room. There is also some poker room like PPPoker that are more local that have tons of players too. Well, let's enjoy and play, you don't need to worry about it!
