Lets say I make a valid Royal flush using both my hole cards.
However I make the other players fold on the turn or river.
I do show my hand but I do not get called down.
Am I eligible for the bonus?
Or do I have to get called down on the river in order to get the bonus which of course affects how you would play the hand. Thanx.

It says you need to win with the Royal flush. It probably does not include when the other players fold it because it will not say you win with the Royal flush but i am not 100% sure. I got the Royal flush twice and both going to show down and both paid quickly (in about 20-30 minutes).

If that is the case it's a very bad rule. You can't bid even you have the Royal flush because the other players could fold and you will lose the Royal flush bonus..

Are there any incentives if you get the royal in a freeroll or steps game?

I don't think it has to go to showdown

The site says win the hand

"Royal Flush Bonus Qualification:
  • Only available for real money Texas Holdem ring games (not Tournament hands)
  • Both Hole Cards must be used
  • Player must win hand / pot with the Royal Flush (no rabbit hunts)
  • Must be submitted within 48 hours from hand completion
  • If the Royal Flush comes down on a Deal It Twice table only the FIRST dealt turn and river qualify for the bonus"
PS the OP doesn't care what we say anyway, (another cut & paste from August on another site)

It depends on how to interpret 'Player must win hand / pot with the Royal Flush". If you bet and the other players fold, you didn't win with the Royal Flush.

Yes, it does depend on how you interpret it.
I would say that if you bet because you have a royal flush and your opponents fold, you have won with a royal flush

I believe that if you did need to go to showdown, then it would have been much simpler for them to have just said that, (in that instance obviously you would win the hand)

Key to me interpreting it this way is the mention of a rabbit hunt - how could that even happen if it always goes to showdown?

I think this wording (including the no rabbit hunts bit) was chosen just to cover the case of winning (by your opponents folding) with only four to the royal and then rabbitting the last card
