The river is tricky. It always seems like when you have the stronger hand you get killed by the river. But I've won plenty of times by catching the river card.

i usually dont see the river unless it beats me or just improves my already dominate hand.....i try to let the least amount of ppl see the river...so i rarely win with the river card

The river can either make you or break you. I only hate it when someone catches one out of 3 cards cards they need or something to beat you and they stay in to chase it.

The No Limit River is like a natural river...it is neither good nor evil, it simply "is". If you respect it, and don't do anything foolish to put yourself in harm's way of it, you can enjoy its benefits while avoiding its dangers.

I do think poker players tend to remember the times the river turned on them and swamped their chips, while giving another player safe passage. But how many of those times did the drowning victim ignore all warnings and blindly dive headfirst into shallow water?

When I first started playing I kinda lived and died by the river. Now if I get beat on the river then I promise my opponent got lucky, he caught a card a. he either never should have chased or b. caught a miracle when we were all in. This is why I am stuggling in freerolls because my opponents don't care about when they "should" chase they simply do it and get lucky. It only takes 1 or 2 big hands at the most and you are out of the tourney.
