Review On Cake Poker

Hey I use to play on betonline and spent months grinding my way to a decent sized bankroll. When I moved up to higher stakes I just kept losing over and over with the worst bad beats imaginable on every hand. I understand bad beats happen here and there, but not on every hand with a 95% chance of winning and higher, just ridiculous. Anyways besides that does anyone play on cake poker? I'm trying to find a new poker site that allows players from New York state to play that I can use holdem manager on. Please give me some of your own personal opinions on this site. I read opinions on Betonline and they were bad, yet like a dumba** I still played there. So please be honest and thank you CC

cakes not so bad but the withdrawll limit is 500
intertops is 150 hear it comes quicker then most sites?
and theres no using huds but thats ok
merge is cool too withdrawl lmit is 100 but not sure how long itll get to u like most sites.
huds capable many tourneys.

Bad players abound at Cake and Bovada. Tables at Cake are few and wait is almost impossible. I think that these are the two easiest sites to build a bankroll at the lower levels. Bovada full rings can also be crowded as well.

I deposited on cake 4 or 5 times and I will say NEVER again. The absolute worst online poker experience I've ever had. Terrible players. That call with terrible cards and are rewarded with hands that take down alot of pots. I have also had a player who has harrassed me on numerous ocassions. He was reported. They said the problem was taken care of yet he is still able to chat and pretty much say what he wants. Your experience may be a different and better one than mine. On a scale of 1-10 I say 3 &that is being generous.

And why are you even paying attention to chat? Almost every single day I log into CC, there's some thread/post about a member's feelings getting ruffled due to chat. For the sake of the forum, turn it OFF. ::my God::

Lastly, saying on a scale of 1/10 that Cake rates a 3 is just silly.

OP: The games are soft. The traffic is low. Payout problems have been reported for years with them (& also pretty much everywhere since BF). Sometimes the software can be a bit buggy but not enough to keep me from enjoying the room.

Only reason i have chat on is because can sometimes get extra info, eg is someone is tilting, or two people are arguing in during a hand it can change things. Plus always check it when you get ot a final table
when people say things like "GG everyone congrats!!!! made it to the final table" you can infer things about their ranges and playing style.

Very understandable. I agree completely that it becomes useful in later stages of a tourney.

But as for the folks that become tilted due to an opponents constant harassment, the value of even picking up on gathered information from chat becomes -ev IMO

Edit: Sorry OP, we're not trying to derail the thread with a discussion about chat.
On topic note: Cake is a decent room. I very much enjoy playing there and like the small traffic of 'terrible players'.

I gave him a couple of the reasons as to why I won't play there again. You gave your opinion which we disagree on but I won't berate or belittle you for it. Now that would be silly. I say next time someone has a thread on OPINIONS you should give yours and keep it moving.

Queenie, I don't think he was belittling you at all, only pointing out the flaws in your logic, and actually--giving you some advice. Unsolicited, maybe, but good advice nonetheless.

Once again, OP asked for our opinion of Cake. All I did was give my experience and why I wouldn't play there any more. OP, may decide to go there and have a wonderful experience and it would be just that, their experience. And if someone asked for our experiences on it our stories will differ. But, I wouldn't call their EXPERIENCE silly just because someone has a difference in opinion. I didn't say don't play there or don't go on that site. I just answered about MY experiences and if I don't feel like being harrassed, on a site where I deposit MY money, and their customer service does nothing about it then that's my right to voice my opinion on it. Btw, have you played on Cake? I didn't read about your experience on there if you did. If you have can you please let OP know about it since the thread did ask for reviews on it. Thank you.

I dont like the cake software. I have the option of playing anywhere I want. In the US - and maybe other places as well - that option is not available, so cake may be one of the few options. I played there, and if its one of few options a player has, its well worth it in terms of bad players. For me its a software thing, but for the most part, a soft game cant be bad. Cashouts, now, thats another topic..... Heard good and bad things..... Never tried so dont know..... Have a BR collecting dust there.... Aint got 500 yet......

As far as the chat thing goes, if chat tilts you, YOU have the problem. Sure, maybe you want support to take action, but in all honesty,................. really?????

Queenie, I wasn't attempting to berate or offend you in any way. I apologize you took it as such. I found it important to argue a few topics I saw as problematic in your post to be able to properly post a review on Cake for the OP. (does that make sense?) [it should]

I never stated that I believed your experience with Cake to be silly. I simply implied that your rating of the site was of a poor analysis, and one that was 'silly' (not your personal experience).

If you find it difficult to take criticism (and it obviously is for you) then don't write questionable reviews. And seriously try to stay away from the chat box while at the tables. It seems as though it's only going to farther set you back from your initial goal of improving your game (imo).

I'm not saying you're not entitled to your opinions. I'm really just saying you'll be met with mine.

1. Their customer service sucks!!
2. Their graphics ALSO suck!!!
3. Their cashouts suck!!
4. Not a lot of traffic. It could be a long wait for a game. Which sucks!!!

Maybe,just maybe, I shouldn't have posted about the players their getting rewarded for their terrible plays. Maybe that's me being frustrated but part of my experience as it is probably alot of people's experience.

I didn't offer my opinion as I am a busy person and haven't really had the chance to sit down and play much poker this past month. And while I have a small bankroll there, I have not made a withdrawal, so can't voice my opinion there. My few encounters with customer service was good. My favorite site (poker stars) is no longer open to US players.

100% true. If you don't like Cake just try Intertops (the same network) which has its own cashier and great support.

Well this is BS Demon, I strongly dissagree with what you are going to write tomorrow, it's a pile of crap, behave.

I'm a newbie playing on cake and I like playing there but I haven't tried to cash out. Honestly I love the software. You can't use HUD but you can review stats afterwards and just put the important stats on the player notes although people change screenames about every week. Theres also easy hacks if you really think you need your HUD. I played on Betonline for a bit until i realized that their 10% rake is beyond acceptable. Paynorake is on the same network as betonline but I haven't tried it yet. Bovada is fine. No real complaints except that they have no freerolls for starting a bankroll(student in WA so I can't deposit anywhere!!).
