Hi, I am quite new to online poker, so far I have only been using pokerstars. It may be a stupid question, but are there any restrictions about joining other poker rooms? I mean - do I have to stick with just one at a time, or can play in different poker rooms if I want to? I know that you can't have more than one account on PS (fair enough), but I was wondering if creating a diffferent account in other poker rooms can be seen as a violation of this rule? Thanks

different sites you can play as many as you like , but recently i have tried to enter same tourny with my wife , 2 separate accounts , mine and hers on poker stars and there was a restriction that we both cant enter the same tourny if we have same ip address , i dont think i had that problem previously , but i guess its good since some people get together and can see each other hands if they make it to the same table in mtts

Restrictions are that you can't have multiple accounts at an online poker room and that you shouldn't play at 2 or more online poker rooms that are on the same poker network at the same time. For an example you shouldn't play at Americas Cardroom and Black Chip Poker at the same time because these 2 are part of the same poker network called Winning Poker Network.

Also, you should not play two accounts in the same tournament or at the same table. Often one tournament is available in several poker rooms of the same network. You can have accounts in each of the rooms (unless otherwise explicitly stated by the rules), but do not have to enter the same tournament several times.

Oh, I have never heard of it, thank you! So do you know if PokerStars is at the same poker network as any other room? What about 888Poker?

No,PokerStars and 888 Poker aren't on the same poker network,so you can play at both at the same time if you want. Also, full tilt poker and PokerStars are practically on the same poker network and I really don't know if playing at both at the same time is possible.Perhaps someone here at the forum will explain it better.

Slightly higher, I listed poker rooms in which you can play, they are not related to each other, I often play several at the same time.

yes but you can create an account in Betonline, Sportbetting and Tiger Gaming but you can't open 2 or more of these clients at the same time.

I've downloaded Tiger, Betonline, and Sports Betting. I played a couple of free rolls and noticed I was playing the same tournament on separate skins. At one point I was on the same table with myself. All of the real money tournaments on the three skins are the same, and I'm assuming it's not ok to play the same tournament on different skins, but it seems possible to do...

No you can play at different poker rooms where you want, but only you need to have one account for each poker room different, I play - 2
poker room when I have a lot of free time, you too if you want to choose another good poker room to play and win money, you can not have two accounts in one poker room and so all players are warned by all poker rooms!

So I did make a mistake and I've been banned from the Chico poker network which operates the Tiger, BOL and SportsBetting poker skins for inadvertently playing the same free roll tournament on separate skins. I'm hoping they will let me have one account but I'm negotiating with them. There is also a clear warning on the freerolls thread about having both BOL and SportsBetting accounts is against the TOS, but it is allowed for CardsChat members to access the free rolls. At least the CardsChat free rolls don't run at the same time on different skins, so you can't "multi account" these games.

Live and learn. Sigh.
