Hi, to cut a short story short I was withdrawing funds I won on pokerstars. They then revoked my withdrawal and deposit privileges, and emailed me stating my account is undergoing a ‘routine security investigation’ and to contact security@starsaccount.uk for information how to bypass it. They already sent me an email stating I would need to send proof of address and my passport (I had already sent my passport). I sent a picture of my bank statement with proof of address and waited. I had to contact them again before they responded, asking if it’d been verified. They replied stating they have confirmed my utility, and that I now need to send a picture of my bank card ending in ****!! And a full picture of my statement with my transactions (I only sent the top of the bank statement with address, bank logo, etc). Is this standard practice??

Most users pokerstars have done that verification process, it's normal

Standard procedure to prevent fraud. They want to make sure that you are indeed the card owner.

Once you deposit with visa/mastercard you have to send them a copy both back and front in oder for them to process a withdrawal. Once you do it once with them you will not have to do it again unless you get a new card.

I have gone through this numerous times on different poker sites as well as casinos. They will send you a KYC (Know Your Customer) form to fill out as well.

When sending a picture of your card you can block out the middle digits, just leave the first 4 and last 4 visible on front. Block out the CCV digits at back as well.

Yep that's how it happened for me the first time I withdrew too, she said "Is that it?" I said yep that's my passport and utility... lol

First time it took what seemed like a three or four days to clear as well... 888 Poker was like that too but since then its like a 12 hour to 24 hour wait... like cooling off period, maybe get you spending that money again... lol

I think that is absolutely Wrong, especially if you've decided you're on tilt and now is the time to get your money out before you sleep on it and then decide to spend it all...

I did not withdraw money but just deposited without being asked to send a copy of my card or other information about my bank account. When I made my poker account I was asked to send a picture with my ID card, I accepted, but sending photos with the bank card seems too much to me, then they have everything they need to do what they want with my money from account!!!

Complete rigged scam pokerstars and 888 poker can go fck em selves and so can all chat moderators and every fckn fool who deposits here stop putting cash on site pull out cash and 6 months site be gone for good. So quit the scam

Why would you want other members to stop depositing money onto pokersites?

I like to deposit my money onto the online pokersites. Does this make me a "eff'n" fool? I'm only a marginal winner at best & if you were to work out my hourly while playing online poker the past year or two, it'd be far less than minimum wage that's for sure. But even if I were just breakeven.... a marginal loser... or even significant loser.... why would YOU want me to stop putting my cash on the sites? (I don't understand why or how it affects you). Personally I want MORE people to deposit MORE money onto the sites. Not just so that they can lose it to me but in hopes that their experience with online poker will be somewhat like my own.... I really like online poker and did from the very first time I deposited my money onto the sites (yes... I made deposits of hundreds of dollars my first day playing online poker.... and have never regretted it. My only regrets are that I didn't play even more than I did)

By the whole nature of the game most people lose in poker, and some tend to get very angry, when that happen ;)

Its sometimes usefull to check your facts before writing long and angry posts on the internet. "Black friday" in 2011 was not about poker sites cheating their customers, it was about them alledgedly breaking US law by even offering their services to US customers. Which therefore, per definition, those sites still accepting US customers, still do.
