Rakeback after the fact?

Anybody have any work-arounds for those of who signed up for a bunch of poker sites before we even heard about rakeback? Why won't the sites just let you close your account then come back again under different conditions?

How difficult is it to join under a different name, say a spouse's name or possibly you own middle name? Would it help to uninstall your software, clear your cache, and try a rakeback sign-up from scatch under a different name?

Any experiences you can share?

They probably have your ip and or mac adress also so I would be careful. Some sites if you email support they will either reset it so you can, or put you on a "list" (like full tilt does).

They can't and won't let you do that because of the contracts/deals they have with affiliates.

I wouldn't even try to work around it. Fulltilt might let you switch to a rakeback account if you didn't originally sign up with another affiliate.

And please everyone - don't start recommending affiliate sites in this thread. We will have to close it if it heads that way.

I was able to get rakeback with Full Tilt - I emailed them and said I meant to register with a promo code. I'm not supposed to say which one, but it was one mentioned in several threads I saw online about this particular problem. Several weeks later I got another email from FT saying they gave me rakeback. It said the reason I got it was because I was a frequent user of the site.
