I read in the cardschat news that On Line Poker is now "regulated" or legal in the great State of New Jersey. That leaves me with several question that I would appreciate if some one will answer:

1st: Will the State on New Jersey have strict regulation over the sites?

2nd: Will a players BR be guaranteed by putting up a bond or an escrow, to make sure the owners don't go south with a suit case full of players money.

3rd: Will the State control how the sites will pay out when a player makes a withdrawal, or will one wonder if they will ever get paid. and in a timely manner.

4th: Can player in other States play on line with New Jersey located poker sites?

5th: Can we get the names of the On Line poker Sites in New Jersey, and will cardschat experts make a survey to guide dummies like my self as to which sites to play at and which ones not.

Thanks,

mike

Can't answer all of your questions - but the important one is that you can only play there if you are in New Jersey.

1. My best understanding is yes the sites are all regulated by the state in the same manner that the casinos are regulated.

2. The money you have in your account is just as safe as if you trade your cash for chips at the casino cage. In order for a site to run in NJ it has to be based in NJ.. so you dont have any small poker site run on some foreign island that can just take your money.. Im not 100% on whether or not the money is insured or guaranteed.. but im pretty confident having my money in an account run by major casinos.

3. The payouts are extremely simple.. I have won a jackpot for $1500 on a slot and more money from playing poker.. due to tax regulations when you win over a certain amount on a slot you have to sign off on a tax form.. I was emailed a form and asked to print it out, sign it and send a picture of the signed form along with my drivers license.. the next day mu account was funded the $1500.. To withdrawl i simply went to the casino where they have a special phone.. i called verified account info and a minute later they were handing me cash. i havent tried to set up a bank account for the wire transfer but i understand it is just as simple

4. as dakota mentioned.. you must be located within the borders of NJ to play on the site. You dont have to be an nj resident tho

5. the best sites right now are 888, partypoker, and wsop.. they are my favorite but i mostly play on 888
