1 - How large of a bankroll have you made from playing only in freerolls?
2 - How has your experience been at PS with regards to luck? Did you often get lucky or were unlucky most of the time?
3 - I am not a conspiracy theorist nor believe in a grand rigged scheme but from a perspective of a business whose survival depends on players depositing and playing in order to create as much rake as possible, is it possible that PS software "favours" players who have deposited at PS, in order to keep them playing and spending more? After all how could PS or any poker room survive with a small pool of freeroll players?

My answers:
1 - I won one or two micro prizes a couple of months ago but my biggest win was June 3 CC $100 freeroll at $8.50. Unfortunately, I have lost half of it already playing spin & go and a few turbo tourneys.
2 - I don't use a software program or anything to track my gameplay but have saved some screenshots of some of my hands where I have documented how unlucky I have been so far.
3 - When the survival of a business and its profitability is involved, I can easily see this kind of manipulation as a way to "reward" players who make deposits.

Go to https://www.cardschat.com/forum/pok...t-have-i-done-cc-freeroll-328507/#post3697049 to see some of my unlucky hands.

Once upon a time I believed like you do that you run better when you deposit.

I can tell you with full confidence now that theory is not true. At least on pokerstars as I do not play regularly on other sites so cannot say if it is true or not on other sites.

Luck comes and goes over time. Lady smiles on you sometimes and other times you cannot buy a winning hand even with the best of cards.
This is so for all buy in levels.

I play a lot of spin n go games they are hyper turbo format you got to expect to take some ugly beats and losses very regularly it is just the nature of the game.

I can fill a whole page with beats like you posted from today alone so it happens to everyone. Once you do not allow it to get to you and you come back stronger next time you will be alright.

  1. I am currently due for a $4.62 bankroll ($4 pending verification after a high elementary league finish at end of month)
  2. More unlucky than lucky but that is because I only play ABC poker. If I were to try with more speculative hands I imagine I'd experience the luck factor more frequently but at the same time deplete my bankroll for losing most of my hands that way
  3. I don't think anyone can rule it out entirely unless one of us worked at PS and knew the inner machinations but logically it would make more sense to milk casual players for as much as they're worth if their deposit frequencies were high enough. For e.g. it would make more sense to deplete the bankroll of someone who has a tendency to deposit $20 a month than to reward him, because this would ensure a steady inward revenue stream. Whereas rewarding him with better odds would only ensure rake from the existing ecosystem and stump that inward revenue stream. But highly unlikely given the investment in time and manpower required to ensure these unfair outcomes present themselves at irregular enough intervals so:
    • They don't appear frequently enough to be caught by observant players (e.g. how players caught a whiff of the UB scandal all those years ago)
    • That these are targetted at specific microstakes tourneys because tracking software used by regs at higher stakes would make them being caught more likely
The resulting blowback from these activities will also irreparably damage their brand and cause more significant net losses compared to the minute gains in influencing the microstakes games unfairly.

Edit: I'm sure you've already read and have received advice on these bits. So just my POV on these other bits mentioned:

  • Spin n gos were designed mostly for the casual player, if I'm not mistaken. The variance is brutal and isn't recommended for those with budding bankrolls
  • A tracking software is an investment that pays for itself fairly quickly. It also helps objectively address concerns raised in your second point. We have tendency to remember the bad beats more often than the good beats or the consistently good play that we are supposed to employ.

  1. A little over 100$
  2. Not lucky nor unlucky (since I deposited I have been a bit more unlucky, but I have had moments that I was more lucky than unlucky.
  3. I think it would make more sense to make the paying players unlucky. When they go bust, they might make a new deposit ('look at my graph, I have been so unlucky, but I can be a winning player, just have to get what I deserve, let's make a new deposit and the money will come in) while freerollers probably will go back to the freerolls and try to make some money there again.
That being said I don't believe that these games are rigged at all. It just doesn't make sense to do that, while multiple countries go check there facilities and systems to see if it happens fair. So risking that only on some speculation, while the millions of rake just flow in when they don't manipulate it. Just wouldn't be a clever business move.

We are talking about a company (Pokerstars) that earns millions of dollars every month (maybe every week) if you consider that has more than 100.000 players online every day so I don't think that players who deposit (the majority of players make deposits) have better luck... I am one of those who deposit every week but I can't say I've been lucky so far, most of the times I lose from bad beats!

1. Had $5 made with freerolls and league. Over months.
2. Felt card dead most of the time, but I think it was within variance.
3. I don't believe in conspiracy theories against specific players either. It's the seat not the player. But what I think is possible, that they could dump decks of the shuffle server, which woudn't lead to bigger pots. I find it quite weird how often monsters get beaten by other monsters. Having that said it is just a feeling. We would need an entitiy that collects databases from players an runs analysis over millions of hands to get real evidence.

I live in the U. S. and do not live in NJ so I can't play for real money on PS. But on other sites I can play for real money and never made a deposit I have done quite well. On ACR won hundreds playing freerolls. Same with BOL and Sports Betting Poker. In the old days did it on Absolute Poker, Full Tilt, and many others. Just saying it can be done!!!:D:D

1) I have never deposited to any poker site. From freerolls, I have won enough to play in the micro cash games. I have twice built my bankroll to over $150.00 at Full Tilt and got my Pokerstars account up to $118 (over $100 from Cardschat freerolls thus far this year).
2) I do not think I have had worse luck than anyone else....just got greedy and upped the stakes too soon, so I blew it all....got 60 cents on PS and hope to earn more.
3) Every penny I make at a poker site goes right back into it, as probably most freeroll players who make a few bucks....nobody withdraws $8.37....

(For example, sports interest) wants to unwind, even with a small amount of bankroll, suppose we receive a no deposit bonus from the poker room or without any funds, and won the freeroll.

I have never passed 5$, but truth be told I used to play only PStv freerolls. Then whenever I had something I would just lose it all. I am not bothered with conspiracy theories or too many thoughts on luck/bad luck. I only try to understand if my game was correct or not, and most of the time it is not so probably it will be awhile before I build a decent bankroll. But I honestly don't think that PS or any other poker room would give any advantage to players with deposit history.
