Sorry if this is already a thread...but I'm kind of concerned regarding the payout/ withdrawal structure of Carbon Poker. I'm not exactly too keen on the whole having to put identification up on the website. I don't really feel comfortable sending a picture of my driver's license to someone I'm not familiar with, and I also don't really know how secure the site really is. The question I am posing here though, is directed toward the members of this forum who have cashed out with Carbon before - using the check by mail method.

The question I am wondering about is whether these forms of ID are required to get a check sent through the mail as a form of cash-out. I know that the ID requirement thing is right there on the withdrawal page on Carbon, but for me the withdrawal button is grayed out. I don't really know if this is just because I don't have enough $ in my account to make a withdrawal, or if it is because I haven't put my validation forms in to the site.

The main reason as to why I am posting this question is because the other two poker clients that I use (Bovada and Black Chip) do not seem to require any sort of verification forms for the "Check by Mail" cash-out option. If there is no way around this for Carbon, I will have a decision to make regarding whether or not I am going to continue playing on Carbon Poker.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated guys. Thank you.

You have to do this for lock poker too, I agree with you it seems to be a bit much, but that is just how they prefer it. Carbon has slower cash out times as well, so keep that in mind. That being said Merge probably offers the best tournaments, so if thats what you play, it may be worth it to you.

From what I've seen, I completely agree with the whole Merge poker sites having the best in the way of tournaments. At the moment I only play on the "three big ones" that I mentioned in the compare/contrast thread that I started. Those are Bovada, Carbon, and Black Chip....out of which, only Carbon uses this withdrawal verification ID stuff.

I haven't actually checked out Lock poker, but I'm not exactly sure that I want to from what I've read on here concerning the whole cash-out taking a super long time and the chance of it being declined without any real reason as to why. Would you recommend Lock poker?

I dont think that the cash out times for Merge poker is really that bad I mean you could just wait 9 months to get money from lock like I did if you want.

I submitted a cashout on Carbon a week before I submitted one on Bovada and already received the check from Bovada in less than a week. No wonder they are getting all the traffic/volume, which then makes them able to provide great value tournaments. I still play the large majority of my volume on Carbon because I know the players I am up against for the most part. Bovada would have more traffic if they had a room without the anonymous players. That is the only reason I play tourneys on Bovada because I am too concerned with collusion. It is much easier when the players cannot have full disclosure.

The verification process for Carbon is pretty standard, at least across the rooms I play at.

You should be fine with Carbon. Withdrawals are averaging about 2 weeks for me.
