Question about Poker Stars VPPs

Here's an odd one. I got a message today when I logged into pokerstars that a ticket for the Playboy Golf freeroll has been added to my account, for earning at least 1,000 vpps last month. However, I'm certain I only earned at most 800 vpps. I only joined at the end of May, and according to the cashier vip status page, I've only earned 984 VPP all YEAR. So is PokerStars just being generous giving out these tickets? Is this common, or is there some other funky VPP math I'm not aware of?

I think I got my ticket for earning just 600 vpp in a month.

I got the same thing. There's no way I earned 1,000 last month.

Come to think of it, I seem to remember reading last month you needed to earn 600 vpp. I guess 1000 was just a typo in the memo.
