ok so im on full tilt and realized i have over 4 thousand FTPs, ive never used them before. I was actually wondering if you can turn these FTP's into real cash.

I know that you can trade in 500,000 play chips for $5 on a certain website, was just wondering if their is something you can do with these FTPS. thanks all

You can use them for a few tourney's but outside of that they're essentially worthless (outside of the FT store and basically worthless there) and if you have rakeback you'll take an MGR hit when you use them.

Yep be wary of using them if you have rakeback. I never new anything about that until I used some one day.

Waste of time imo.

You can use them for satellite tournament entries, where you can win seats in real-money tournaments.

Make sure you actually play in the tournament you win the seat in though: if you win the satellite and then unregister you'll get paid out in FPPs, not real money. You need to play the tournament you get entry to and cash in it in order to make real money.

What is an MGR hit?

4k points is worth about $20. At least that's what they take away from your MGR when you spend them.

Converting them into cash through satellites is a pain, imho. Just find something you like in the store and get it.

If you have never tried it before, grind a little more to 5k points and get yourself a 1 month membership at stoxpoker. Then register at http://www.trulyfreepokertraining.com to earn extra weeks/months. This will be worth a lot more than $20.

What is an MGR hit?

MGR is your Monthly Gross Rake. That's the amount the poker site estimates it collected from you in rake, i.e. rake paid for tournaments + the rake paid at the cash tables you played divided by the number of players dealt at each hand, minus additional expenses such as transaction fees when you deposit, overlays in tournaments you play, or frequent player points spent.

That's the amount they use to determine how much rakeback you can get (if you do have rakeback, of course)

What you say is correct. The truly free poker training is really good. It does use your FTP's to gauge it, but it doesn't take them off you. So you don't actually spend any.

If I'm not mistaking I remember reading something about spending your FTP points costing you real money, something like 0.05c per point am I mistaking? Or maybe it was half a cent per point
