I think we should better to make a topic "Yr unhappy hand"
I can explain why QQ it s not the best hand
Usually players play cards like AQ, KJ, AJ etc
So it is a big chance to "catch" A or K on the board

If the flop is with 2567T
It always could be a straight or flash

So okaaaaay with QQ it s hard to win in a big and small flop with QQ

I like this hand and depends on the situation you can push all-in this hand and it will be valuable

BUTTTTTTT

My opinion -- it s easier to play 99 than QQ

With QQ there's a 40% chance an overcard will come on the flop. It always sucks when that happens but if there's no overcards then you're probably good, even if you don't flop a set and the board isn't too wet. Don't be scared to play the hand in these circumstances :)

you need to play at least 20 times a hand before taking conclusions. i have lost 4 times in a row with aces but i have won most of the time with that hand. QQ is always a stong hand.

There's a 40% chance of an overcard on the flop???? I didn't realize poker was played with a 24-card deck now. QQ is going to win more often than not so I'm always glad to have them as my hole cards.

I was going off calculations done by others where the math suggests 40%. If that's wrong I'd love to hear what the true % is.

The math is right, AK is 47% vs QQ preflop. Assuming there's no dead cards. There's 4 Aces and 4 Kings in a 52 card deck. 3 cards to a flop so the math is 8/52 (15.38%) + 8/51 (15.69%) + 8/50 (16.00%) = 47.07% Where did you get 24 cards from?

I feel like i never win with them. But in most cases thats not the reason not to play them. Premium hand that should be played almost every time.

It does not have to be bad at all, if you play them right you can get well paid,
but as the others have written you must not overestimate QQ.

In my opinion, this is a fairly strong pocket pair. If you lose with such cards, then it is just an accident or you do not know how to play poker at all. On this forum you will find a lot of useful information, including how to play with such a pocket pair.

As like it's said in Poker Mindset, you should always play it same way. Thinking that it's your unlucky hand is just stupid. If you play it hard enough, you get rid of lower Axs and Kxs on the table.:icon_thum

You shouldn't always play any hand the same way. That's really bad advice.

OMG also seems like the ladies are always doing me in as well. Lost to AA, to be expected, and AK kind of unlucky but ok I can live with that, but then even smaller pairs when opponent makes a set! It goes on and on and on. I know that it's got to even out over time so I try not to let it effect my play. I'm a women and us girls should stick together. Please start showing me some love ladies! :)

QQ is not a bad hand at all. Always bet this hand preflop and if someone 3-bets you either 4-bet or just call him, depending on the size of his and your stack and the 3-bet size. You can easily run into AA, KK or AK or even KQ, KJ..you need to find out how strong your opponent is preflop. Obviously if you 4-bet and there comes a 5-bet they probably hold AA, KK or AK so you need to assume that you are behind. Call, see the flop and decide what to do. But always bet preflop. Even if you get a huge 3or4-bet, then always consider folding this hand. It always depends on the situation.

In most cases, you should raise with the ladies at any position. This is a fairly strong hand preflop, but vulnerable enough on the flop. Completely eliminate slowplay. You would not really like to run into the pot with an ace or a king. Although when you are preflop, you are much stronger (except for the hand AK - against it you have a coinflip), but post-flop is not the most pleasant opponents, because by catching a pair, they almost completely neutralize the power of your ladies. Most of all you would like to play against one opponent with a younger pair or Qx hand. Putting all the chips in the pot before the flop is not always necessary, but for beginners it is quite acceptable to avoid difficult decisions on the flop with an ace or king.

You're not alone! I feel your pain, I do. LOL. I lost so many times with QQ its ridiculous. What I have done , and not sure if its a really good idea yet, though it has helped pretty much, is raise considerably if there are only 1 or 2 people in the hand. I usually raise 5 to 6x with ladies because you want to try to push out those who are playing with A3, K4 etc. Etc. Its helped my game with the QQ pretty much but yeah, the unlucky ladies...

Lately, I'm having more luck playing QQ than AA! The big problem is that at the lower limit, many players overvalue hands that contain an A, so any A that appears on the flop already puts you in a difficult situation. But don't give up to play with QQ!

This is a good pocket pair, on which you need to play carefully, on which the players win perfectly, and - I also sometimes win it on it, most of the time I do not play either
QQ, this is poker and different situations occur in the game and even AA several times in a row I did not play, you need to get used to such moments and play next!

to have QQ in hand ... it's a strong hand ... you can not fold a hand like that ... I think in a preflop situation I never folded ... however after seeing the flop and if there is an A or K on the flop ... would analyze the chance to fold if your villains' bet is very high ..!
