Hi guys,I am from Vietnam and have an idea of running poker tournaments in Ho Chi Minh city. I need your opinions and advice on how to do it properly. Here is the story.

I have been spending some time playing poker in Sydney. For almost one year, I often play three major leagues: APL, NPL, Kingspoker. All are self-dealt tournaments, held weekly in different pubs and clubs across the region. Buy-in is often Freeroll, $15, $20 and sponsored with prize pools respectively of $150, $500, $1000. These small tournament give tickets into bigger tournaments from which the league starts to make real money. My idea is inspired from these games and I want to bring this type of game into Vietnam.

In Vietnam, poker was legalised last year and numerous clubs emerged. These clubs offer professional dealers, fancy rooms and free food etc. But I actually do not like this kind of business at all. There are also some" salespeople" that lure newbies and gamble addicts into the game and earn commissions on them. Also, they ruin the game by constantly changing rebuy-addon structure and confuse the players. I want to step in and make a difference by offering a better game for the people. Below are a few things about my business model.

The license to run this type of game costs me around U$10,000. It is subject to approval of the local council and the police department because it is a sensitive industry. I can afford this fee and will file for application when I come back to Ho Chi Minh this July.
The district I target at is where most expats live. I know a lovely American lady named Ellen who runs a pub for more than two years now. She has the facilities that I need: beer taps, pool games, spacious seats etc. The spare room she offers me is in the attached picture, which is enough for 3 tables only. I am satisfied with this floor because it is very hard to find a good place to accommodate for more than 30 people with food, drinks and ample parking space for their scooters.
The model is self-dealt tournament with single entry fee. No rebuy/addon because I want to promote the integrity of the game. I myself will handle everything because of quite small size.

I have a few questions as below.
1. Do you have problem with self-dealt tournaments? Is self-dealing suitable for high-roller tournament?
2. So far there is no night game in the area. Other clubs arrange tournament to last 5-6 hours so they start very early in the afternoon. I can definitely arrange a 4 hour game easily and become the only available poker place after work. If so can I charge higher on the prize pool? Around 20%?
3. If I offer a satellite tournament into a bigger event, can I get a discount from the bigger league, as I am trying to promote their brand?

I know this model has quite small profit margin but I still love doing it. Please give your points on any potential issues.
Thank you.
