Yay me!! I guessed 1 post. First off, this belongs in the Poker Room section. Second, how about some details? Ever cashed out before, have you contacted them, how long ago, what (if at all) was their reply - that kinda stuff.

As a temporary measure, yes, while they verified my identity. Not a big deal, took a couple of days (sent scanned copies of documents verifying my identity). Email support and ask why your account has been frozen.

as it urns out my adult son has an account that is in the neg. I offered to pay the account up current and they said no. I offered his phone number and they said they couldnt discuss it with me for privacy reasons. To me if you are holding my money and froze my account because of his account then it must be my bussiness.

Not sure where to begin here. 1) Am I mistaken, or do they let you play real money with a bankroll balance of zero? Or does 'neg' mean something else? 2) Have you talked to your son and asked him to get it resolved? If so, what transpired? 3) Did poker stars take his phone number? 4) Your son lives and plays and your home, I take it?

May be none of my business, but if he is an adult, you are not teaching him much about the responsibility that comes with adulthood if you pay for his debts, especially a gambling one.

Their did not seize your funds. They have frozen your account, however temporarily. There is a difference. You'll probably get your money, in due time.

I've never had that happen. I have cashed out of pokerstars and full tilt numerous times each and every time the transaction went smoothy and I received a check in the mail in just a few days.

If his son used eChecks to deposit, Poker Stars gives you the funds immediately, before it clears your bank. So it is conceivable that he made the deposit, lost that, then the withdrawal didn't clear the bank. Not sure how in the world this would have any bearing on OP's account, unless of course the "son" is actually him.

As usual with a first post going right to frozen accounts, there's probably more to the story than we're being told...maybe we need a new forum-"I'm new here and got my account frozen"

I had my son open an account in his name , but , used my birth date. I found this out quite accidentally when I found a notebook with usernames and passwords to various pokerrooms. Once I realized this was done I e-mailed PS and explained the situation to them.
The next time I logged in to PS, as I was playing, support started "chatting" with me and phoned my home which is the contact number they have on file and I had to explain the situation to a woman on the phone.

Point being, they take this serious, thank goodness.
