PS locking account after league placement

Hi Folks,

My account was locked two months back after cashing in the elementary league and again earlier this month when I cashed the Uni league.

Not the entire account because play is still possible. At both points my deposit/withdrawals were locked (now unlocked as per PS security). They had also frozen my PS online school account. This was unlocked two months earlier but still remain unlocked this month. I wrote to them again to find out what they needed (earlier it was ID cards docs).

Does this happen to anyone else?

Hi Support (starsaccount.com),


Can you please tell me what restrictions there are around the account and why? Things were normal until I won a cash prize for the leaderboard in the University league. There were similar restrictions placed when I cashed in the elementary league. Does this mean my account will be placed under review every time I cash in a league?


What I've done:



  • I provided my passport copy, Sri Lankan ID and a 3 month bank statement when changing my address from the United Arab Emirates to Sri Lanka
  • I provided my passport copy and Sri Lankan ID when I cashed in the elementary league
  • I provided my passport copy and Sri Lankan ID when I cashed in the university league


I'm really confused by the restrictions. I don't use a VPN and play from my place of residence in Sri Lanka. I've been as transparent and communicative as I can be. But I am growing weary about how certain elements in my account get restricted every time I cash in the league. Can anybody please shed some light on this and what you need from me to avoid this from happening in the future.

This was resolved yesterday with an apology for any inconvenience. But no explanation was provided. I was able to successfully transfer some money to another person (stake) as well without any problems as well.

I'm thinking it's an automatic flag against my account for having been a previous resident of the UAE (currently one of the countries of residence prohibited from play on PS).
