I have just noticed that pokerstars has reduced the number of entrants to the astronomer freerolls! They all max out a 5000 regardless of which game it is. This is very good news. I am sure they are still total donkfests but it is a step in the right direction. Any step in the right direction, no matter how small, is still a step in the right direction. Just wanted to let everybody know. GL freerollers!!!

I noticed this too, and am definitely happy about their decision on this. Made it to the point where playing their freerolls were just entirely too much work. Seriously some good news.

Awesome news. Especially for the games I play where most of the field didn;t know what game they were registering for in the first place :)

For me these are still nothing but a way to practice playing in MTTs. I wonder if they have limited the fields for the week 2 games as well?

Thanks for the Heads Up

It is decent news, especially since they are still allotting 72 round 2 tix for each one. In their previous 'smallish fields of 6- or 7000, they were allotting something like 48 tickets, a worthless endeavor.

They are showing the Round 2 as 32500 max. Not sure, but doubt if that is a decrease. I never bothered to check, as they never fill up. BTW, this Saturday is showing 400+ registered while Sunday is 6000+. highly unusual.

They were good for practice for me too. My accumulation of 18 tix that are over a year old are testament to that. lol I virtually stopped playing them even for practice, have got to be really bored.

I like the reduced # of entrants as well. I wish Full Tilt would do the same. Full Tilt is ridicoulos 7500-10000 people playing for $150 way to many in my opnion. Play for 5 hrs and win $15

Ya thats pretty sick, having to go through ten or nine thousand people just to get a ticket is ridiculous. Maybe i will start playin them again.

Haven't played on stars in a while. Mainly due to the insane large fields for freerolls. Just to place to sat into another freeroll. Might give um another shot. Still not too excited about only top 1 or 2 percent getting anything.

There apparently have been changes to 80K freeroll satellite as well. It looks like the number of entrants has been increased to 20,000 and the payouts now go from 8th to 60th for $5.50, whereas before it was 6 to 27th for $5.50.
