pokerstars will remove the Privilege freerolls

For me, it is the end of an era.

I could usually play 3 of these per day and make an average of $0.50/day.

If I play 300 days/year then that's $150 in my account.

Also I was using that money to play other MTT's at the same time I played those freerolls.

I hope they will replace them with something even better but that remains to be seen.

From my understanding they are also removing the quarterly SN + Freerolls. And also Reducing the silverstar weekly freeroll to Monthly.

They do plan on having four 1 million dollar freerolls next year open to all players. So a small positive amongst the negative.

A 1 million dollar freeroll with 350,000 players is about a $3.00 buyin; so nothing to get excited.

Yeah, that's why I said a small positive. A person would have to be very lucky to win one of those. At the very least these four $1 million tourneys will bring in some new players. And that benefits everyone.

It is unfortunate that these events will not be .. It would be cool if you would do something new like that

That is $150 minimum. It is a sure thing with almost no variance.

I have no problem playing 300 days since my regular MTT's are at the same time. It is just another table and I usually play push or fold in the Privilege; so it is easy money.

As for the 1 million; variance is up to the roof.

Freerolls are always plusEV.

and I think adding some other things instead will not hurt BR long run as well.

Not always if you consider the fact that; that extra table could be replaced by a more profitable one.

That is if you are a winning player.

I'm profitable but only at the microstakes; so the Privilege was good value for me.

There are some freerolls I won't play. For example 3000+ players for a $100 prize pool is a waste of time.

I agree with Gorak on this one.
It is basically a push or fold game and if you are not in another game you just get to 4000 or so chips and sit out and collect the change and at the end of the month it will add up to between $10 and $15 for basically no effort invested.
I will be sorry to see these go and I think PS got good value from them in keeping the rec player.
Some people I know actually think that they are good players because they make the final 10% and deposit and play more because of the confidence they get from it.
I say to them if you think you are good join the league and really test your skills.

Although most of the money came from min cashing; I had some deep runs and even a final table.

If the changes are as good as FullTilt's for the micro players; then I'll be happy even if we lose the Privilege Freerolls.

I had read somewhere and I really wish I could find it again, but they originally were going to have the $1M freerolls then took them away & then seeming to be generous offered them again.

I totally concur that with SO SO many people signing up it will definitely seem like a very low MTT sign up event.

Unfortunately I live in the USA where unscrupulous Senators want to take away my rights to play online poker.

I think they should not remove something like the privilege but rather add many freerolls to promote and attract more players.

It would be the same, if they remove something and replace with something.

They did take away the SN + freerolls which were worth $1 Million four times a year. But also gave 4 "new" $ 1 million games open to everyone. That could be the info that you read. Unless there is new info I am unaware of.
