Hi, While on holiday in Thailand, I received 2 e mails saying that 2 withdrawals had been made from my pokerstars account. They were for $1.01 and $75 , and then the account was frozen. I emailed them back to say that I had not logged on for over 1 month and the withdrawals were not authorised by myself. they told me someone had logged on with my user name and password (they are only known to myself and are not written down anywhere), and that it must be my bad security. It seemed strange that only My Pokerstars account was hacked (supposedly) and no other poker and other online accounts that I had. As stated, my password was only known to myself, and I had previously put on Pokerstars neteller three security questions, which again , the answers could not be possibly known by anyone else.I asked Pokerstars if these were still operative and didn't receive an answer from them.
Before the withdrawals were made, the language setting on my Pokerstars account was changed to Russian, and then the (test?) withdrawal of $1.01 was made. It is very strange that this didn't ring any alarm bells with Pokerstars, especially as the withdrawals must have been made to a different name to myself. Pokerstars say it must have been my fault, and didn't answer all the points that I have just listed. They just said that they are not liable for any losses and if I am not happy, then to contact my local police! I am absolutely positive that the police would be very keen to investigate my $76.01 loss (yeh , sure). Needless to say , Pokerstars will never have even 1 cent further deposited by myself, and I would advise anyone who plays on their site to keep as small a playing balance as is reasonably possible. Just out of interest, I find their customer service very poor, and find that if I email any questions to them, at least half of them don't get answered. I am not a massive admirer of Wm.Hills poker site but at least(in the UK) they have a free 24 hour
helpline which I have found to be excellent. For the largest poker site in the world (Pokerstars) to have any queries to only be conducted by email , questions to take up to 3 or 4 days to be answered, and many questions not answered at all is diabolical.
