POKERSTARS LAUNCHES SPIN & GO WEEK

pokerstars last week launched Spin & Go games – fast-paced tournaments with lottery-style prize pools – that have proved an instant hit, with more than 7.5 million games played already. To celebrate the launch, PokerStars today announced a special period of promotions, dubbed ‘Spin & Go Week’, which will run from October 9-19 with the following activities:

1. Spin & Go Daily Challenge – complete a new daily challenge each day, accessible through a player’s Spin & Go Daily Challenge window in the PokerStars client or Mobile App, for the chance to win free Spin & Go tickets and cash prizes. Go to http://psta.rs/1B6dfir for more details.

2. Reload Deposit Bonus – players who deposit $25 or more by 23.59 ET on October 19 using bonus code ‘SPIN5’ instantly get five free Spin & Go tickets (4 x $1 tickets and 1 x $3 ticket). Click http://psta.rs/1B6dfir for more information.

In addition there is a Spin & Go First Deposit Bonus on offer for players that make a first deposit of $20 or more using bonus code ‘FREE20’ up until 23.59 ET on October 26. Players receive $20 in bonus cash plus a bundle of Spin & Go tickets, which are awarded – like the Spin & Go prize pool – on a random basis, from 10 x $1 tickets, 20 x $1 tickets and so on, up to 50 x $1 tickets. For more details, check out http://psta.rs/1o1pg8l.

SPIN & GO FORMAT
A Spin & Go is a three-handed hyper-turbo Sit & Go tournament (500 chips, 3-minute levels) that are available at $1, $3, $7, $15 or $30 buy-ins. Once three players are registered to a game, they watch the spinning numbers on screen to see how much the prize pool for that game will be worth – anywhere from 2x the buy-in to 1000x the buy-in.

The current available buy-in levels – and potential jackpot prize pools – are as follows:

Buy-in
$1
Jackpot prize - $1000

Buy-in $3
Jackpot prize - $3,000

Buy-in $7
Jackpot prize - $7,000

Buy-in $15
Jackpot prize - $15,000

Buy-in $30
Jackpot prize - $30,000

Within each different buy-in level there are eight possible different multipliers that will determine the prize pool, as follows: 2x, 4x, 6x, 10x, 25x, 100x, 200x, and 1000x. If the highest jackpot prize occurs in the top three tiers of multipliers, second and third place each get 10% of the prize pool on top.

The probability of each prize pool occurring varies slightly depending on the buy-in level, and can be viewed in full here: http://psta.rs/1qtubZK.

Thanks for posting this Dakota. As I was depositing the $25 with the code, they offered me an Instant cash bonus of $11 if I deposited $75 instead of $25. Which I did.

So I got $7 of spin and go tickets plus $11 cash for the deposit. :D

Promotion seems interesting but I am not sold on the format, rake seems a bit high + if you don't bink one of the big ones it is even higher in reality (ouch!).

Surely normal SnG's are better except if spinners attract fish so much more that extra rake is compensated.

Easy extra value

It's too late for today, but for future All in shootout FRs;

As they give you a choice of A or B game, simply wait & see how many people enter each, then enter the one with less participants!
Seems obvious, but with just an hour to go before the 2nd (B) game starts there is only half as many players, ergo twice the chance of winning?

Hopefully the rest of PS players don't wise up to this, so we can sqeeze an extra bit of value out of this already free money...

Again, these All-in Shootout , as they are bored, better would be regular tournaments,
PokerStars is transformed into an office where it is all about luck..

Today October 16 the challenge was to play 5 Spin and Go for a ticket to the $15,000 allin Shoot-out

At least 30,000 players completed the challenge. So this mean a MINIMUM of $150,000 in Spin and Go was played.

This format seems popular for the moment. I don't know if other games are losing players in favour of Spin and Go.
