Anyone following whether, since FT has changed their rules on minimum buyins on cash tables, PS is planning something similar?

Anyone following whether there has been an increase in shortstacking on PS since FT changed their rules (anecdotal or hard evidence)?

If you look at traffic on poker sites- Full tilt has seen the biggest percent drop according to market pulse in the last months. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.

I think its to early to tell what the long term effects of getting rid of the ss is. In a couple of months I think it will become more apperent.

Haven't hear if PS is getting rid of ss or not but at the mid limits PS seems to me to have more people who play the 50bb table anyways as compared to what was on FT so I think PS will be less inclined to get rid of the ss.
If people don't like ss'ers than don't play at there tables-simple as that-goto the 50bb tables.

best of luck

Well its not quite as simple as "go to the 50bb tables", becuse thats where youll find all the reg's, the casual player still just opens any table any plays.

I left the Full Ring games over it, it had gotten to a stage where it would not be uncommon to see a single full stack on a standard nl$100 table on stars. 6 Max for some reason seems to be less of a problem, and the tables are breaking almost instantly when more than 2 of them hit a table. Having said that lots of them are very bad and are just fish that buyin for the table min because they can.

At the higher stakes i cannot really comment, but from reading some threads on 2+2 the standard mid-stakes FR tables are all but dead.

The one thing that I have noticed, is that the SSers have gotten totally and completely out of hand on Stars. You are lucky to get tables with fewer than 5.

This is the best thing ftp could have done. If ps does not step up, you will see a ton more regs on ftp. But knowing PS, it wont take them very long before they follow suite.

I read this stuff to, but in general the data does not support this. There are more people playing(cash games) on PS this month then any time in the last three. FT is just the opposite as they have seen a 20% decline. I guess it comes down to what you consider 'dead'. 'dead' as in no people or 'dead' as in no fish or 'dead' as in 'no one buying in full'.

I agree, it's a matter of perspective. "Dead" probably means in the sense of finding good tables rather than traffic per se. Losing a significant chunk of the regs traffic, though, I would think would be a problem for PS - and regs, for better or worse, are constant customers. As a reg, I'm finding the amout of table swapping I'm having to do to keep even 6 6max tables going annoying, and most of my table swapping is due to shortstacks.

Stars has stated on 2p2 that it's on their list of things to consider. They haven't promised anything but please email them at support@pokerstars.com telling them of your concerns and problems with shortstackers. They really do listen and every email helps and it only takes like 2 minutes.

Ditto. Full Ring on Stars has become a bit of a joke. So, I had the option of either spending extra time hunting out the 50BB tables, which are full of regs, or shifting my roll to Full Tilt. Not hard to figure out which one I picked.

Sigh, I can't get rb on FT, that's an option not open to me... :(

I don't play at Stars so I can't comment on what they're planning but I can say that since FT went to a 35bb min BI the games are incredible. You almost don't even have to table select anymore. Just get on a bunch of waitlists and sit down when a seat opens. The only time I refuse a seat is when I know there is no fish at the table and that's happening very rarely these days.
