After reading the great informative news provided by Cardschat, it appeared to me that the fate of "online poker" is in doubt.

My question is, will pokerstars be the site to save OnLine poker, especially in USA? That is if they every return.

To the untrained eye, it appears that PokerStars is the only "stable" poker site available.

Just my thoughts after digesting poker news from Cardschat, news media, and internet.

I think online poker isnt in doubt. Online poker goes well in PS and other big roms. Tho I would be glad if US/french/italian/spanish players could play again in the big rooms where now they cant. The more players, the bigger tourneys. :)
I dont even know why US players cant play in PS while they can play in eg Carbon...

Online poker is moving so fast that I can barely keep up with the sites moving all around switching networks and skins. Also there are government regulations changing the game constantly even for PokerStars (for example in the UK recently).

Their profits are down and they try to get the attention of players any way they can. I think their attention should be focused on giving a stable service and a better experience for the recreational players. The 24 tabling reg crushers generate rake but they are not adding new money in the system.

Online poker has changed and the sites have to live with it. I think PokerStars as leaders can still change things but they must keep their focus on giving the casual player a good experience. Other sites should do the same to try to keep players happy.

When the USA government sees that online poker can be reasonably stable, it will probably make it available to the public.

This is an interesting issue.
There is little doubt that it will survive in one form or the other but revenues appear to be on the decline.
It has become basically a marketing problem as to how to attract new recreational players to feed the grinders because as the pool of rec players declines so does profitability for the lower stakes grinders.
The field is over crowded and there will be a lot more casualties but the winners will be the ones that market their site the best and people offering 200% sign up bonusses do not cut it.
I just signed up at Bet on line to play the Cardschat games and within an hour they were calling trying to get me to deposit.
I found this to be a little over aggressive but the rep did take a no graciously so I haven't ruled out depositing there.
And that is all I have to say about that.

I personally didn't like the fact that BoL called me as soon as I made account asking for a deposit and certain promos, etc.. They guy was uber aggressive and it almost turned me off from the site.

However, I do think Online Poker will remain a constant for years to come. I doubt it will ever disappear considering we are in the new age of technology and EVERYTHING is happening online nowadays.
