Just saw the link to this article on the news feed for the site. Just wondering if anyone has seen this info coming from any other sources? Is it too good to be true? Article didn't go into too many details so if anyone has a link to additional sources please post.

It's a bit of a premature assumption, IMO

DoJ reportedly is willing to settle remaining Black Friday indictments for civil penalties. The conclusion jumped to would be that Isai Scheinberg would be able to settle his issues this way, which leads to a jump to another conclusion that such settlement would clear away the only hurdle to Rational Group's license application.

Problems, though, could be that a settlement alone does not satisfy NJ DGE, who may want Scheinberg to be completely divested from pokerstars.

Or it could be that the Scheinberg issue is not the sole obstacle to obtaining a NJ license.

But there is no quid pro quo

It's worth mentioning that the source of the story, Calvin Ayre, is currently under indictment himself, and on ICE's most wanted list. It may be good news for him, perhaps he can buy himself out of his current predicament with a settlement of his own.

It is also worth mentioning that the original story that appeared on Calvin Ayre's website, and which the story was based, has been removed from the site.

Also, there have been many reactions to this article, mostly saying that it is a pipe-dream that PS will be able to return.

The article by mentioning party poker implied that Party is seeking to return to the US market. At the time Party left the US market in 2006 it was the number one site on the internet. poker stars was number two but acceded the top spot when Party voluntarily shut down the US portion of its business. I would like to see them both return.

PS returning to the US would be a major improvement to the poker scene. Allowing US players to compete on an international stage with the elite of the poker world would have a huge economic and political impact on the image of the American player. It would be a win win situation.

I miss Stars. Great tourney schedule and always had my cash game of choice running.

Plus I always trusted the site and now that I know two long time employees I have even more trust. I am still waiting on a Full Tilt check but Stars had my roll at my door in 11 days.

PokerStars in 2014

I sure hope that USA players will be allowed to play online poker this year(2014)

I am a poor player and need a poker site with many options within my price range and playing skills.

PokerStars was the best site for me, before Black Friday.

Some times, I live with my Daughter in Maryland, and was excited to think I could open an account there, but soon discovered from cardschat that PokerStars was not accepting any USA players. So, did not make the attemp to open an account.

I play on Carbon Poker and play mostly the double or nothing SNGs. But, that is a struggle too. Because of the rakes, one has to win two out of three games, more or less to get ahead and build up an BR.

Some times I will lose two out three or three out of four. No future there.

Seems, I need to improve my poker skills. lol

Regards,

Mike:)

I think its another joke about PokerStars allowed in US. There was too many articles about this in 2013 so they continues in 2014 also .

Party Poker HAS returned for people situated in New Jersey via it's partnership with the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City.

Put me in the 'pipe dream' camp.

In order for Stars to return, there will have to be revisions to the UEGIA. It will have to be changed in such a way as to allow money to/from poker sites to move freely.

That will not happen! The entire Congress and the President could favor legitimizing online poker, but few will be willing to open up that money faucet.

We would all be better served if we support a thinking model that separates poker from online gaming in general. OLP players do not need the entire online gaming industry nearly as much as that industry needs online poker players support. AFAIK there is no online blackjack lobby.

This isn't necessarily so. The UIGEA only restricts transactions to 'unlawful' gambling sites . . . transactions to and from internet gambling operations licensed by a state to operate in that state are not prohibited by the act.

I really hope ps returns soon. There is no better option for poker. And they should be back soon considering all the money there missing out on In the US. Market. And if the government regulates and taxes it,they will make a lot of money also. I mean c'mon weed is already legal in 2 states...witch poker is also...but imo if weed is legal in 2 states, then online poker should be in all 50.

PokerStars Paid me after Black Friday

In my opinion, which is not of much value, PokerStars is the best poker site. And, I cant wait for them to come back.

Also, After Black Friday, PS is the only only site that paid me back all the money I had in the BR. Several others stuck it to me big time.

Good luck,

Mike

I am just wondering, would it be good or bad for regs from Europe or other eligible countries if US players will be allowed to play on PS?

Ofcourse traffic would be higher but how about competition? :)
