I mean theoretically, the chips would be worth however much you can buy them online for... If I ran up my play money bankroll to say 100mil in play money, would I be able to sell it do you think or would it just be a waste of time? I live in America, where we aren't allowed to play for real money on PS so thanks :)

I still can't believe that you can buy PlayChips from pokerstars for REAL MONEY. Unless I'm missing something, I feel like you would have to be a little 'off' in the head to purchase any (unless you see it as a 'donation' to Pokerstars) as they have really zero benefit.

I don't think they let you transfer large blocks of play money chips on PS since they started selling them. My dad plays for kicks there and I heard him mention something along those lines anyway.

Well tbh nobody would buy any less than a million because you get a 1000 for free ?

They pay $1.00-$4.00 per million? I don't play on there and don't know how easy it is to accumulate that many chips, so I could be wrong, but it sure seems like a waste of time to me if that's the selling rate.

The last time I saw, some people actually buy play money chips, but you need to have a lot! If you play only for fun than that's ok, but if you are doing for the real cash, I don't think it's worth.

I know full tilt used to have freerolls that you could buy into for like 1 million play chips. Not sure if they do it now after the restart.

Aside from all the issues about "buying" and "selling" play money on PokerStars and other sites, gambling with play money can be a lot of fun and fairly decent practice for new players. Here's my take on the play money thing . . . http://tinyurl.com/k66hvqz

Has anyone in the U.S. tried to either buy, or sell play money? If so, tell us about the process, and more importantly, how Stars is dealing with it.

I dont know why someone is going to buy play money chips, but the competition isn always soft. In Pokerstars i have seen Chris Moneymaker playing high stakes play money cash games
Buy play money chips+ play playmoney tournaments and get stacked+Ebay=Profit

But in my opinion, I think play money is sometimes fun to play with, you don't really get on tilt, but I wouldn't invest any money for them.

Hi,

I accidentally got into a play money tournament yesterday after finding a password on pokerschoolonline and during the tourney PS was trying to sell me play money.

Can play money be converted into cash on pokerstars?

Apparently my understanding of the meaning of the word, accidentally, is incorrect.

Was my usage of the word so terrible?

"I accidentally got into a cold shower"

"I accidentally sent a nudie to my uncle"

- doing something without realizing what the circumstances actually are.

You can make some good money with play chips. Sites usually buy your chips ranging from 1$-1.5$ depending on how much you sell.

They have Play SCOOP tours and sunday majors like Sunday Billion which are really fun to play and have a really big prize pool.

I bought some play chips on ebay 11$ for 15 million, played a bunch of tours, 3 weeks later, I ran hot and got 4th place in a Sunday Billion for 85M. I sold 100 Million for 110$. Just bink a scoop event for some high stakes tours and you can make some money.

Imo if you want to make some money with play chips, buy some first, (look around on ebay, you can find them for alot cheaper than stars) Dont grind from 1k to x million, it takes ages. Games are really soft, players are idiots, and I dont go on tilt when I lose :)

Lol, just imagine if that was in a a real Sunday Major. You'd probably have $25k+.

You acquired a password for a tourney to which you were not qualified, then you deliberately entered the tourney. What accident?
