PokerStars not for US residents ?

Wondering why pokerstars will not allow US residents to play poker for real money ?

Any information anyone ?

US government kicked them out of the market years ago as terms of an agreement after the US seized the top 3 poker sites and all assets in 2011. See Poker Black Friday 2011 for more.

I read enough to realize that the u.s. government does what it does best which is meddle in affairs they don't need to unless somebody with deep pockets is behind it.

The gov't should get out of the poker business except to regulate it. They claim they worry about kids playing, organized (or unorganized) crime, losing your rent money etc. Stay out of our lives. Poker has been played by most presidents since poker was invented. While i am at it legalize pot, prostitution and gambling of all kinds. Tax revenue would be huge!!!
