I just found out that as of March 3, 2014 poker stars limit cash game tables just 8 per player.

This measure will affect players:
1. Sit at a table of cash without buying the Buy-in Max.
Two. Play a few hands.
Three. Leave the table with more money than you came.
April. Repeat the process.

This means that if a player leaves the table with $ 8 admission $ 5 but then if you already have 8 tables the player will have to come to the table with $ 8 and not $ 5.

They say this new measure?

I'm not sure what you're referring to.
Will this mean you can only have a maximum of 8 'cashgame' tables running at one time? (I just saw this post, logged in to pokerstars & opened up 12 tables so it must mean something other than how I've interpretted it)

Yeah like PO said I was in last night and had 9 tables running, remembered today I saw something on here about a limit being set and according to date indicated it should have been yesterday? Glad it wasn't cause the cash session went quite well :D

its the anti ratholing measure. You'll only be able to buy in for less than max on 8 tables, if you double up and leave a table , you then have to buy back in at your next table for the amount you left the previous table with or the table maximum buyin whichever is the lower. Roll out has been put on hold though as stars found a problem that beta testing hadn't shown up.

As of March 3, tables of NL200 Full Ring pokerstars.com will be the first to implement the new obligations of Sale, a move intended to combat "Ratholing".

Thanks, I didn't understand the OP either. Here is the info directly from Pokerstars:

I guess it's in effect now, since it happened to me. I had no idea this would apply to Zoom. Plus, it applies to a 20 hour period. I played yesterday night and tried to play this afternoon and I was forced to buy in for the max. That's messed up!

That really sounds silly that even when you played last night you're forced to buy-in for max next day. Should be your decision.... Luckily I rarely play cash

Since I didn't want to buy in for the max, I thought I could go up a level and buy in for the min there...but no!!! They take the highest amount I made at the lower stakes and force me to buy in for that. :(

I'm actually laughing at your story, it's quite funny, you are foiled in your short stacking evilness whichever way you turn.

It's very clever to apply this to the next level up also though.

I like it very much but...
They would solve this one by limiting min buyin to 100 bb,but greedy bastards know that will be counter productive for new players...

what happens is that the period lasts 20 hours and by that time you'll have to join a game with the same stack you dated.
clear that it is stupid should be a period of 8 tables
