I don't have any particular axe to grind against results sites such as officialpokerrankings, sharkscope, pokertableratings etc, but I do have a big problem with people that keep spouting other players' statistics from those sites and using it to taunt people at the microstakes level.

I am a strong believer in the motto "don't tap the fish-tank", because weak players are where the profitability in poker comes from.

Anyway with pokerstars it is now quite easy to opt out of these sites showing your PS statistics:
Poker Stars players are now required to transfer $0.01 to the PokerStars account 'ResultSites' if they wish to opt-out of all result websites.
Top marks to PS for making it nice and easy. Obviously this only stops your PS statistics being used, so you still need to contact each site individually if you want to stop them displaying your statistics from other poker sites.

The only thing is that this won't stop it or even slow that problem down. I see people spouting off stats on players that they've collected through PT3 or HEM a hell of a lot more often than what they've collected off PTR, OPR or SS, so this is still going to happen just as much.

I agree with you in that it drives me crazy when people say that stuff to our bread and butter, but all you can do is find them on another table and tell them to stop(don't want to bring more attention to the fish ;))

I love it when they start off with "Oh, you've hidden yourself from PS searches" and then follow up with "Oh, you've hidden your stats on the tracking sites, too". Makes being paranoid feel like a virtue :p
