Pokerstars Issue - connected with new Aurora Graphic Design

Hi all CC Community!

If you face troubles recent days playing at pokerstars - it could be because of the newest feature implemented by PS: Aurora Graphic Design.

Yesterday it was automatically enabled for my account, what is hard to detect and getting aware yourself! The outcome was that I could not played properly the tables I opened last night. Mostly sitting out, if getting a hand and clicking raise it folds on my turn, etc ...

So I checked the settings (picture below), and saw a warning my Video Card is outdated under the Enabled new Aurora Graphic Design.
As I am currently not able and actually do not know how to update my Video Card - I have just simply disabled this new feature, and fixed all the issues I faced last night. Just to make it more secure, I have also disabled this new feature under the "Animation" settings section. Now the Games are running smooth for me as usual:

For several days I tried to master the new design, but it didn’t work correctly. Either there were no buttons for betting and resetting, either the screen was completely black, or I just was absent and could not change anything. I went into the settings and turned off this function.

Two months ago the same thing happened, but I quickly turned off this feature:cool:

Aurora is back and now does not have the option you referred. Do you know how to disable it?

I can't completely disable Aurora but I can reduce the impact. Notably I was able to get rid of the throwables:

I'll know soon if this helps as I just made the changes and am about to play a League game.

Correct, you cannot disable it competely, but you can lessen the impact. Numerous threads on various forums about this already.

You just have to scratch your head at PokerStars. This intro to the Aurora Graphics Engine has been rumbling along for over a year (I faced problems in January) and the majority seem to really dislike the 'upgrade'. At this point countless clients must have contacted them regarding their issues but they have moved ahead regardless ( I contacted them in Jan and never received a reply).

As with all software the companies tend to beta test before rolling out the full update to everyone, usually there will be issues following the full rollout and things tend to get patched gradually. This one does seem to have been just forced through though and is clearly going to have a big impact on lower hardware which may impact traffic. Not everyone wants or needs a new computer.

I'm having no issues on my normal computer, but I'm not an intensive player so will have at most 3 tables running. I will be trying it out on my older laptop later and I'm expecting issues. Reading threads in here it sounds like the mobile App isn't exactly popular either.

thank you very much Dejange, omg, I couldn't manage the table anymore because it was so difficult, I couldn't read the notes on the players, the cats passed either finally I got rid of this new table that I do not like at all, thank you

I am also very unusual to play on Aurora, but I am very happy that this year I bought a new hardware, everything works. I understand how many people are now playing on old computers, since the PS used to work on any calculator.

PokerStars messaged me after my @ClintFromNYtoVA Twitter post on the issue.

They suggested all of the things we already know and said there were less issues on the Carbon layout setting so I will try this but I imagine it will still use up my GPU resources.

They said if you are still having issues to send LOG FILES. I recommend everyone complain this way. They are forced to review all log files sent, so this is the most effective way to complain.

Absolutelly the same settings by me, except throwables that I left Enable. So far no problems, and hoping to remain the same :top:

I can't even log into the room after the last update.
I haven’t played for a week now and i don’t know if i will be able to play in the future after the next update...

Come on guys (programmers), work to improve! Give the room back the title of the room with the best software...
And so far it turned out to be a room with the worst software :D

Im in talks with pokerstars on Twitter about this issue. They reached out to me via direct messaging after my tweet about the issue. Seems they wanted to stop my tweet from gaining traction so they did not reply to it publicly.

They recommended all of the settings we have discussed. But they also recommended using the Carbon table theme as they said this caused the least amount of issues.

So I tried it and the Carbon table theme isnt taxing on the GPU because its an empty shell of what we are used to. It would be as if online poker traveled back in time to when the internet first started.

I am highly confused by this move and dont understand why anyone would want to use this theme.

I reported back that they are making a big mistake and the longer this goes the more damage will be done.

I will update here if I get a response worth sharing.

In the meantime I recommend finding my tweet @ClintFromNYtoVA and retweet and heart it.

Finally downloaded the updates, and to my great surprise - everything continued to work smooth :eek:
I am with Android Mobile, tried PM game and there were no glitches and interruptions at all.

However, I do not like the lobby outlook, and especially the way that games are displayed. For instance, CC Freeroll 100$ is displayed like Freeroll 100$, so if there are two different 100$ freerolls at the same starting time - you will not be able to distinguish whis is CC one :confused: Simply CardsChat is not mentioned neither in Games Search nor in the Game's Lobby.

Another issue, I could not find a way to open Home Games :( No such option, what is really sad after the recent availability of Home Games on Mobile :confused:

I click on my PokerStars icon and the 'connecting to site' thingy comes up then goes away. I've tried getting there in different ways and even tried opening a new account. On opening a new account I get a log file to download, but cannot due to "Microsoft Smart Screen not accessible". Cannot find anything about MS Smartscreen. Oh, I'm on a computer. End of story
