Pokerstars Hand Challenge

pokerstars have a new promotion, the Hand Challenge.
Win a hand with any of AK, KK, 55, A3 and 5d4s and get entered into a specifc All-In FR for that Hand.

It's only applicable to cash games and excludes Zoom. I had switch from standard cash to Zoom but like this promo so thought I'd spend a couple of hours qualifying for the FRs.

The 5d4s proving difficult!!

Before I give up and go back to Zoom ..
Does anyone have any idea how many hand I'd need to play to hit the 5d4s
(general info: 2nl 6max; Im assuming i can steal the pot 75%; 200 hands per hour (2-tabling).

I have just signed up to this challenge and haven't really made much of an effort to achieve any of it yet, but having seen this question has got me thinking fairly deeply about odds, probability and percentages, and have looked at a few websites that claim to cover these subjects, and I have to say that my mind is aching from reading them. Understanding odds and probability etc is important but is far deeper than one can imagine! More reading required, till I find the answer to this question!

1 in 1326 I believe is the odds of getting an exact hand.

The 55 proved to be the hardest one for me purely because I just didn't get dealt the hand.

The 5d 4s I played 4 tables for about 3 hours and once I got the hand for the first time after waiting so long I got it then dealt ti me about 5 times in as many minutes.

Good luck getting the challenges done

Keep in mind that not only do you need to get the hand to get a ticket you also have to win the hand.
You can burn off a lot of cash chasing it down to the river trying to win with that.

Cheers for the responses. I'll persevere a little longer, although I think 'toots babos' is getting my share of the 5d4s.

I've still got the A3 to get to. Had it once but let it go. Good advice fubarcdn, the expected return from these promos doesn't justify playing hands any differenly from usual. 54o = bluff raise, continue, fold. (not that i would do this often normally)

Just win the hand pre flop, it still counts

Well if you're a cash grinder then it's easily worth it at a shot of some free money for doing your daily grind.

For mtt/sng grinders like myself it's a bit of a pain taking a few hours out of your session to complete the challenges but at the same time we could become a millionaire

Only on NL- Holdem Cash game for the first season, only on Zoom NL-Holdem cash for the second one. And you get one extra on deposit of $10 for the first one and $25 for the second.

But remember to go to the challenge page first and "START" the challenge to be able to avail the offer. GL!

weeee grinded out the 5 hands last night, glad I saw this as last i looked the challenge stuff was spin n go's and with hardly a br on stars didn't bother but for this i just grinded like 10 tables for a couple of hours if that and hit them all, KK was the last one I got as the hand was evading me.

GL in the flips all.

Just the 5d4s left to get. Had it once and had to let it go, reraised pre in a 3-way and would have been crushed by QQ.
.... I'm a bit more determined to catch this one now.

At last, got the 5d4s for the full set.
I think I'll find the Zoom version starting on 19-Apr a bit easier.
But I needed few sessions at standard cash to get my hand in again.

I register to all shootouts. I played about 3 hours 4 tables with lowest buy-ins. I pushed all in every time when I had qualified hand and everybody just folding, so it was easy to me.

I had forgotten to sign up for the challenges, so ive just now done it. will be interesting to see how many hands it takes to get all 5.

Also now might be a good time to play some cash games as pokerstars sngs and tourneys are currently down meaning some tourney players might have moved to cash!

Lol 12 hands in and ive already won with kings twice and cracked them once with jacks. if only poker was always this easy!

still to get 54.. But not going to go broke chasing a bad hand

Got the others quickly as suit is irrelevant but haven't got this one yet

LOL 54off I have completed this challenge without even noticing

I just checked it on the off chance and it's been completed haha

I opened 9 tables and in about 40 minutes i received the 54 hand from the challenge and won it , gl today in Shootout`s

I got in a few all-in shootouts. I actually just watched myself in one it was pretty nerve racking!. I won the first ~8 or so hands to finish 217th and won $35. I was so close just a few more hands and it would have been a huge cash! lol. It was funny though most hands i won i was a 5 to 1 dog preflop and caught good flops. My K5 ran into 1010 on the hand i got eliminiated on .

nice i managed to get $2 out of it while i was sleeping
