I just noticed they have some new freeroll games. I just entered a 5 card draw no limit freeroll. NO LIMIT IN 5 CARD DRAW???? That's just plain crazy if you ask me.

They've had them for quite a while now. Same with no limit 2-7 single draw. Nothing more than complete stupidity, plain and simple, anything for a rake from the adrenalin junkies.

Games like that are online poker on a steroids overdose. Luckbox lotteries in their finest moments.

It hard to in the money in pokerstars. There are too many people. And you have to play at least two rounds tournament. Can pokerstars just hold $50 freeroll or $100 freeroll? That will make things more simple.

I don't mind playing 2. Similar to a 'step' program that everyone can't wait to get into when they start them for an event. I usually have several tickets in the ticket bank for when I feel like playing Round 2 on a weekend.

Biggest difference I see is that the standard $50-100 freerolls have such minimal payouts and like FT's, the US ones fill in 15 seconds. I prefer playing better poker and making it into $2,000 prize pool tourneys.

that is why I prefer bodog freeroll, I have cashed several times and I even placed second once, but I can only get to around 50th position in pokerstar freeroll, so hopefully, the have another PPA event or some free roll that actually pays!

since they added more tourneys and run more frequently they dropped the entry #'s and dropped from final 11 tables to final 8 tables recieving tickets to the weekly tourney. Still good practice and a nice shot a cash.

I try and play the satellite to the Daily 80 Grand every day, but my computer usually isn't fast enough to register before it fills up with 10,000 people in about 30 seconds. I have cashed a couple of times, though, and top 5 win $55, so it's a nice payout if you can survive for 6 hours. The one time I made the final table, though, it took forever because the blinds stop going up at level 25, and people played so tight it was unreal. I think they should keep going up to shorten the tourney.

i agree! why not just hold a $50 or $100 freeroll instead for a round 2 tickets!
time is very important for some players but for a freeroll it is understandable that they setup this one up with $2000 price pool

pokerstars have got some great regional tourneys on at the moment. I just qualified for the UK $50K guarenteed tourney on 24 March. They are obviously pushing the PR side of things hard trying to get new players and it seems to be working.

Pokerstars freerolls are indeed the most frustrating experience.

You get to round 2 of the things and it's just donkfest round two. You barely have the patience to make it to top 60 or 70 or whatever in the first round to finally get your ticket, and then at round two you have to reexperience the same bs.

You'd think people would have some talent to get the ticket, but instead you are guaranteed to be knocked out by some raising maniac that you call down to the river, only to be knocked out by ace-on-the-river-jokerstars.

Yeah,I totally agree.
So I play freerolls at pokerstars except holdem because it's not funny to me. Another thing is that I'd like pokerstars had similar freerolls to full tilt with its $100 freeroll or freerolls with more money :D

stars freerolls are a waste of time. to many people in them. i wish they would reduce the sizes of them, and have better prizes. but if your just starting out, it is a good way to get in some playing time.

When you think about it, it makes very good business.

The more frustrating the FR's are, the more likely you are to make a real money deposit.

(or......the more likely you are to play somewhere else?)

i've kind of given up on PS. i've gotten into the 2nd round a couple times and if i'm in the right frame of mind - ready to be extremly patient i can win a little. but there is too much time involved for too little $.
i've just gotten a couple other poker sites i've joined that i'm going to explore.
so good luck on PS freerolls. peace :)

the first time i won a ticket on the ps freeroll i was playing nl oma/hi-low and it was getting late, i was small-stacked, and it was after the first break so blinds were getting big compared to my stack. i was tired so, i pushed a hand i would normally never all-in with just to get rid of my chips, and won the hand. I kept pushing so i could go to sleep, and kept winning and knocking people out. that woke me up a bit. within 30min i had over 1million chips. I fell asleep sitting up before the tourney ended, and when i awoke the next morning the final table screen was on and i had won second place!

ps freerolls are really not freerolls at all. They are just a sattelite to the next round. Have to finish in the top 64 - 88 and then you have to play a whole nother game before you can make any money. Try a different site or deposit money instead.

You need to be verylucky to win or do well in these freerolls. I have played some but I usually just sit out for the first 10 mins or so until things settle down a bit. I really do not understand what people get out of going all in with nothing hands. Sometimes they get lucky but usually they are out 3 hands later.

The no limit draw games are fun but if you put your chips on the table you better be ready to go all in. It can be brutal.

good luck with it

just played in thier round two freeroll and also the EPT live freeroll the had, didn't cash this time, but there is always next time and waiting for the fifty satelite freeroll requires a fast connection and good reflexes, because ten seconds is all you have to act before the entire 10000 seats are taken, don't mind the wait, have being cashing out in freerolls for the last three days so I am back to level I was when I was taking down cc freerolls about a year ago.

I went in a Badugi FreeRoll last week at 9 PM my time - at 3 AM in the morning (6 hrs later) I was at 61st place - 12 spots off of the qualifying - when I was falling asleep and went down the tubes. Any PS FR I go in will have to be alot earlier than that one. It was a good experience to play Badugi for free and get the feel of the game. I like PokerStars.

I should have entered that, I've been dealt so many badugi hands today,
