Cash games are my strongest, so I'm reluctant to redeem my FPP for tournament entries. Right now I'm considering the $285 VIP Reward Bonus, as I'm nearing the required 25k FPP. Anyone have a better suggestion?

Here's my way of deciding how to spend my FPP's at Stars:

I take the dollar value of the prize and find how many FPP's per dollar it is to get. EX:

25,000/$285 = 87.72 FPP's per dollar for that reward bonus.

2000/$35 = 57.14 FPP's per/$ for HoH V1.

22500/$260 = 86.53 FPP's p/$ for the Samsung 20" monitor.

12700/$200 = 63.50 FPP's p/$ for the OneCall.com Gift Card.

So it's up to you how you want to spend your points, but I personally like to get the most value I can.

The higher the cash bonus the better rate it works out to be. If you can save up the FPP's for the higher award, then it's worth it in my book. Do not buy any electrical items as they are worth shit in my book. Better off with buying a gift and purchasing the item yourself.

Someone mentioned the satty into the Sunday 100k was like printing money, but not sure about that.

If you can I would save up for the 50k fpps cash award, it's still not great but works out better than the 25k one.

The satellites into the $200k are easy money.
It basically comes down to being able to tread water (win enough to break even with the blinds), and doubling up twice.

If you can get about $5k (you'd have $6k if doubled up twice) close to the bubble, you just get really tight and let people misplay their big stacks then they don't need to, thereby knocking themselves out.

HOWEVER, Insolitude says that he's not a big tournament player. So this probably isn't he best move for him. Not only does he have to beat a tournament, but the prize will be playing in a tournament. Even if he unregisters for the Sunday $200k he'll get $T.

Well, I guess he could sell the $T.

Yep SP you can sell them for about 97% of their $T value, so if he builds them up it may be worth it.

If I were in your shoes,I would spend the FPPs at the shop instead of tournaments...

Thanks guys. I'll probably end up taking the $285 VIP Reward Bonus and giving most of it to my wife. It might not be the best value, but in the end a gift card to an electronics store isn't really my thing...

Soli - that $285 is a really poor deal tbh.

Take the cash and keep grinding away. That's what I do. I've took the 285 5 times already and used for live tourneys in Vegas. Do the right thing!

UPDATE: I took the cash bonus. Of course, I had to earn another 2k FPP to clear it, but that was taken care of in relatively short order. I agree it's certainly not a great return ($-for-$) in comparison to some of the other options, but my wife will appreciate the cash. Trust me on that one.
