They will give you a refund, just ask. Provide tournment ID, screen name, and buy in plus rake amount. This is what they had me do last week when they went down.
I sent that info to them last Sunday because I was in 2 cardschat games and got disconnected. They also had a sitewide pause for about 30 minutes but I lost connection afterwards too. Support said they would get back to me within 48 hours, but I haven't heard anything, been a week now.
I think that happens because of gaps in you internet connection...its not consistent... it happens to me quite often
