Ladies and Gentleman,

I am working towards releasing my pokerstars first deposit bonus. I am wondering if i must save these fpp's up in order to redeem the bonus, or if i can use them to play in a tournament. Hope you understand my question.

Sincerely,

I'm pretty sure that you can spend them. When I was working on my bonus I think there was something on my bonus status screen that told me....not 100% sure though.

^^^^this. All you need to do is earn them, not keep them. They know how many you've earned towards clearing your bonus. In fact, when you click the button to check on your bonus status (in the cashier), it will tell you how many FPPs you've earned towards clearing it. That number will always be your accumulation for clearing your bonus regardless of whether you spend from your FPP total.

Yup, Shine and JD have it. Got this reply:

Thanks for the email.
Any FPP's you use during the bonus period will not count against the number you need to release the bonus.
If there is anything else we can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact us.

One other thing, though; bonuses are released based on BASE fpps; in other words, if you use yer fpps to enter a satellite, and win a bunch of fpps towards another round, those don't count in your bonus total.

Base FPPs at Stars are also known as VPPs, which you can never actually "spend." It might be easier to just think of achieving your bonus by reaching a certain level of VPPs rather than FPPs.
