Theres usually a lot of questions about how hard or easy a bonus is to clear. Well, I've finally cleared my first bonus. It was on pokerstars and it was for $25.

I started off by playing the 18 player $1.50+ .50 turbo NL hold-em s-n-go's.(1 point for each tourney)

Once I got my account up to $60, I played the 10 player $3 + .40 turbo NL hold-em s-n-go's.

I cleared the bonus fairly easy (17 days) At the end I had just over $90 in my account. So not great, but a profit anyway.

I'd like to thank Tenbob for the tips he gave me on clearing this bonus.

I must say something about pokerstars. I play at pacific (known for horrible support) and I play at Titan (known for multiple monster starting hands).

Playing at Pokerstars was by far the most GUT-wrenching of the three. The River cards there were horrible. It was unbelievable how many times I had a "winning hand" and it lost on the river. Now I don't go around complaining about things to often, so you all know it had to be bad for me to say something. I know it was only 17 days, but there were soooo many of them. I'm seriously thinking about NOT having money in their because of this.

Now, if Pokerstars is your favorite site, give me some feedback on the rivers. Is it known for that?

Just so I am reading you right... are you suggesting that Pokerstars is less random than Titan or Pacific?

I personally don't think its the randomness but more of luckyness. Like a guy who calls raises when he has 4 8 off suit and he hits 3 of a kind its more of the shock when you had a QK beat by that. If he would of folded and a 8 came up it wouldnt of made a difference and QK might have won the hand. Thats why I don't think its less random but more of stupid plays by the other guy that paid off. Thats also why I prefer playing agaisnt the "Tight-Agressive" players because usually the 8 4 off suit wont burn you and only the better hands will be played and you can pick up on that rather then trying to read a manic type of player who bets randomly.

I'd assume that it's more directly related to the large number of people on the big sites. You end up with a lot of people that are bad poker players.

I read a review once of the 2 biggest sites and one thing I remember this fellow said was that these sites can be very profitable but expect some of the absolute worst river beats you can imagine.

Ok if by lots of river beats you mean just stupid players & stupid plays leading to more suckout situations, sure that'd be true at poker stars.

I disagree with you though, thechern... loose/dumb players frustrate me all day long, but they pay off more. Tight/aggressive opponents mean less suckouts but also less mistakes and so less profit. My opinion at least.

Yes thats true but wouldnt you have a good idea when a guy raises 6x the big blind preflop when you know he has good cards or agaisnt someone who plays anything and you never know what they have. Atleast you have a general idea that the hand is jacks or better rather then a 8-2 or a AA?

Sure playing a higher quality game will do that, and it would be frustrating to play against raise-with-anything weirdos, I'm just saying it's EV+.

I play at Stars after trying out royal vegas, Pacific, Tropical, Dream and Noble. It is by far the best site that I have tried yet. Tropical was a joke. Pacific was early on and I might have to try it again now that the bad taste has subsided (bad beats). Royal Vegas I would like to try and get a bonus there since this was the 1st site that I tried before I know what I know now. Noble just seemed fishy, they called me a few times which seemed odd. Dream I won $1.50 in a freeroll the other day (I usually don't play freerolls but there was only 5,000 registered, lol) and I want to see how high I can take it, up to $4.00 after 1 hour, seems to be alot of fish/maniacs there. Stars just seems to be the one that I trust the most. I need to try Full Tilt, Party and Poker.com but haven't done so yet.

I agree that the reason PS seems so bad suckouut-wise is the donk factor of some of their players, and from my experience, the quality of play doesn't markedly improve as you move up to higher stakes. Still and all, the best online sight to play, IMO.

BTW, just earned my latest $100 bonus from PS, it took 7FPPs for every dollar. The good news, it had on expiration date.

I have to agree with the donk factor...PS has to be the worst. Even if the river card does come all the time, what in the hell is that guy doing calling with a gutshot?
