I think the old Pokerstrs are much better then this couple of years with new owners . Now its only about money and profit. The old pokerstars have much more freerolls , Pokerschool , and much more . Remember the freerolls for begginers in all games like Omaha and 5 card , Badugi and other games ? Good for relax and joy, now its all for profit. What you think ??

Totally agree with you. In my opinion, the last year is absolutely terrible.
I heard the news that poker stars will be sold. I hope the new owners of the room will not be so greedy and really make a good poker room to make it pleasant to play there.

I don't recall Pokerstars ever having good freerolls, but I do remember before Black Friday that FullTilt (before PokerStars bought them out) had the absolute best freerolls. That was when I was just starting to play online so the timing was perfect for me.

I have been observing that lately players are increasingly recollecting the good old days at Pokerstars

I agree with you.
Especially POKERSCHOOL was perfectly and exciting.
I'm silent about freerolls.
I made a review to them but I don't know if they will hear me. Although what interests them what I think about them leaves hope.
I think now they have no soul...

Yes there was a good time but it was not appreciated and only now when it was gone did they realize how good it was...
And what do you think?

But those guys that came before them were good people?
It turns out so...
And I don't believe that they not received enough profit before.
Of course I have no evidence :D

Pokerstars did have some really good freerolls, but they all disappeared 4 years ago, to the day actually.

There was a $2k freeroll on Saturdays and Sundays and to get tickets you entered the Astronomer freerolls (Hubble, Galileo, Copernicus, etc.). Each astronmer game was different, Stud, Stud Hi/Lo, 2-7 single draw, Badugi, Razz, Omaha and more. These were really easy to get tickets from as most of the field had no idea how to play these oddball games.

There was also the $100k VIP freerolls, which were $1k freerolls that ran 4 times a day with rebuys and an add-on ($0.30 each) which swelled the prize pool.

The tickets were free if you were Chromestar or higher but if you were bronzestar you could get 30 days of entries if you deposited $10 or more.
Each level had a weekly freeroll too, I think Chromestar was $5k.

I'm sure there were other freerolls, but these were long term freerolls that had been around a while.

I absolutely agree, freerolls of different types of poker: Badugi, Omaha, horse were fascinating. I didn’t sleep for half a night to get a ticket and I liked it, there was motivation.

I pretty certain you can turn that off in the settings. Or at least the graphics accelerator.

I think Pokerstars marked an era of poker. I think the holy owners sold it at the right time and now it is in decline.

no, that's not true, i don't use aurora. and it's not fair they obligate to use it considering the high resources that consumes... even there is a chance to lose more money whit electricity costs than you could earn playing poker

I hope someday become the league poker school. It was great to play and try to be at the top. Perhaps the prizes were low, but the feeling of competing against so many players in a monthly league was an excellent thing. Religionales also had links with tickets $ 0.10.

We are all still here, so they have reason to not release free. But really do miss those free large.

I missed the news about the change of owners ( But I hope that a little understanding of this system, the new owners will return a lot from the old great ideas.
