Hi. I was on the forums at pokerstars this morning and read a very disappointing thread and would like to share the theme of the thread with you. Essentially, PokerSchool Online is a free service to Pokerstars members. Some of the content is limited by whether you've earned a certain amount of points or not (I just typed pints there instead of points but caught it in time). Apart from that is essentially free. The training on this site is great. With the live training the tutors quite often run over and teach for free after the lesson time has ended. Sometimes it's not even the lessons theme that has provided me with insights. For example, in the Pokerwars series this month at Pokerstars, a lot of the players are from the live training sessions and I've learnt a lot from their comments in the training sessions to be able to try and think how they're thinking. Due to the pokerwars thing, the field is limited so it;s very interesting to play so many events against the same players. Anyway... I'm rambling on a bit here and missing the point.
The thread that I read this morning said that Pokerstars are no longer archiving their training sessions to their site as not enough people are using these services. Therefore, if you are a pokerstars member, then why not give their pokerschool online a go. This isn't for you that I'm suggesting this. I get a lot out of PokerSchool Online and I'd hate for it to disappear just because a lot of people either don't know it's there or have failed to make use of it. To me it's free, very helpful training with several rewards for participating.

Rant over now... thanks for reading.

I think more people attend the live training sessions than watch the archived videos so it makes sense not to waste server space on them.
I don't think this will affect the PSO league. If the number of players dropped a lot it might but that is not happening.

That may be true. I have watched a lot of the videos on the server before I discovered the live training aspect. I just don't want these resources to disappear. Unfortunately at the live training sessions recently there are lots of people only attending to get the ticket promotions rather than to actually learn. I'm not associated with Pokerstars at all except as a player there but really value the education provided by the site and therefore feel that I should tell people about it.

I was interested in them a few years ago, but like others have said, watching the live training sessions are better.
The poker school tourneys I have found are also a big dissapointment as most are freerolls and the usual allin doneys play them. So much for learning lol.

Their tickets are a big help for those who are starting to build their BR and I find their lessons refreshing too, like a review for an exam :)

Most of the archives are of live training sessions so I find it unfortunate that they're no longer being put on the site for later viewing. I quite often go looking through the archive for a session about a particular subject that I'm struggling with. I attend a lot of the live sessions and I'm also a member of the homegame club where I enjoy the games as you get to play against a lot of the same players.

Well its freeroll, there are many people who want double or play other tournament instead. Just wait till first 30 minutes, play a bit tight and then you can learn.
Of course if you want to learn how to play well from start of real money tournament, then you need to learn elsewhere.

This was the main reason for my thread. I was hoping to highlight them to people who want to learn poker but haven't necessarily got the funds to go to a pro coaching site. The more people who use this free service the more likely it is to endure

Why don't you ask them to make them available for download (if they aren't already)? Then just save them on your hard drive and back them up on DVDs.

I am not a beginner but sometimes watched live sessions, there is some interesting stuff sometimes.

Very useful resource from the poker room number 1 in the world! Here you can not only learn the basics of poker, but also take the exam for a specific course of the game and get a reward for not contributing their money to try the theory into practice! Anyone advice

yep very good promotion and very nice ressources in onlinepokeschool, their best promotion is the premier league where you will find some skilled players from all over the word and you battle with them for 30k monthly.
Their video are generally very helpful to improoveyou games on a large field tournaments.

I was using BB Flashback Express to record them initially but BB did an update and it no longer works on mutliple monitor systems. I emailed them about it and they said it'd be fixed soon but it's still not working as of yet.

I would hate to see it go too.

Full Tilt had a similar thing which I learnt so much from. It has gone & some players enjoy these programs as down time.

We're not on about tournaments here... we're on about the training sessions with Pokerschool online. Just thought I better clarify.
