What applications does everyone use to keep track of their money, as well as in game pot-odds calculators and the like? I'm definitely wanting to get one, but don't really know which is best.

Poker Tracker + PokerAce HUD, best $80 you'll ever spend.

poker tracker ok but unless you play exclusively at sites that PT supports then it really won't track profits and losses.
I think PT is great for cash games as it allows you to dissect so many parts of your game.

Probably the main benefit is it will indicate the calling stations and the rocks while playing live.

There are some good reviews of PT to be found with google.

If you play at many sites then a spreadsheet is probably the best way to keep a monetary record but requires discipline to update after every session.

Pokertracker works with quite a lot of sites and you can use multiple user names for the same database, so its great for tracking profits and losses.

I can't seem to get Pokertracker to work with bodog, not even with the HandGrabber software. I guess I'm just technically illiterate.

The handgrabber software doesn't currently work with the new Bodog interface. Even when it did it was a PITA but better than nothing.

Actually it looks like the dogwatch site is currently down so don't know that I would take that as a positive sign.

Yeah poker tracker is good. As to working with a lot of sites. Yes it does. My problem is I play a lot at South African Sites and we work in Rands not Dollars. I have to edit all my hands just to get PT to import them.

Takes too much time so Im down to the good old pen and paper tried and tested method (IOW Excel)

How about Poker Office? Read about it some where but cant seem to find a demo.

they give you stats on yourself and your opponents more detailed than you see on the sites.

you can see live if a player is tight or loose ,his pre flop raise % and many other stats.

not cheating as you can glean all this info yourself from hand histories .PT collates these into a readable form.
