Please explain these to me. I am multi tabling there, and see tables (5nl) with 6+ players on the WL. But if I look at the table, I cant really see why. Most players are <50BB in many cases, so with so many players on the list, wont you have a different line up by the time you get on the table?

I can see wanting to get on a fishy table, but since I dont have more then 10k hands yet, most players are unknown to me.

So, what do I look for, and why get on a longer list?

There's often one or two big fish & other regs. flock there (but yah.. it does seem dumb cuz the table's gonna be wayyy different if you're far down a waitlist). I might open table, see who the fish is, then check to see what other tables they're playing on & join all of those ones.

Set up your lobby filters so it displays tables you're looking for. I typically go on one's with 0 players waiting, or 1 player waiting (or 7-8players on the table) but set my table filter for 6+ players seated for FR.
At certain times of day, the top 10 highest pot tables will have lots of players on the waitlists. If you have time & aren't loading up a gazillion tables, it might also be more profitable to open up tables yourself (or join others that have just been opened). Alot of new players seem to join onto tables that are just opening up so it's a good chance to play a bit of short-handed play vs. new fish.

You probably won't get on the table in time, but it can't hurt to join ones if you have known fish on them. What's the worst that can happen?

BTW, there shouldn't be a shortage of good tables at 5nl, just configure your filters up in stars to show the ones with high VPIP and Pot size. THere's a little option in stars so you can "lock the sorting" which is really handy.

I've been loving this angle -- there are lots of impatient players just looking for action on new tables. It's also very satisfying to look back and find there is a long waiting list for your table (unless you've been losing -- then it might be time to jump off and let the regs nit each other out)

That's interesting. The CotW on FR table selection said to sort by players/flop initially, then look for high hands/hour and high pot size, so that's what I've been doing at PS. I might try sorting it by VP for a while, to see whether that makes much of a difference.

This seems to be a lot more common with PS 5nl tables than it is with PS 2nl tables.
