Poker Stars Update and NO NOTES ACCESS Aug 2019

Well, well well!!!! Another thing I just noticed about the most recent Stars update....August 2019.

I brought up a table of a game I was not playing in. As often happens, I noticed something a player did and I went to make a note on him/her and....the notes feature is NOT available if I'm not actually in the game??!?!?!?!?

This has never happened to me before!!!!

Is this another "security" feature to prevent players like me from entering a note on someone when I'm not actually active in that game??. This seems a BIT heavy-handed, don't you think?

Could it just be a glitch on MY PC, or are others having this issue too?

You CAN get around this, by going to notes, and activating the notes Pop Up box, and then entering the player id you want to make a note on. You can then enter your note(s). It works, but is a pain in the butt compared to the old way of just clicking on the player on the table.

Has Stars gone TOO FAR here, or do you think this is a legit security feature? Opinions??

To me this seem fair enough. Observers pick up reads on other players without giving away reads themselfes, and they generate no rake for the poker site. So to me this is kind of predatory behavior, as is sitting out on some cash tables, while you still continue to play on others. Either be there to play, or dont be there at all. On 888 notes, tags and the HUD does not work, until you have paid your first blind and been dealt the first hand.

I think you either werent logged in or it was indeed a glitch. Works perfectly fine on my computer - just checked.

Fair enough. Though if there is a top player on a table, I see nothing "predatory" about railing such a person. happens at the wsop all the time. Maybe the ability to record notes on that player is a step too far? I don't believe so myself, but it's worth a discussion, I suppose. I hear party poker is now banning HUDS, so maybe that's the way things are going - we shall see. I think any way we have to get an advantage on our opponents is fair game, as long as we don't violate the terms of service of the site in question. Thanks for your response!

Thanks! Yeah, it might be the logged in issue, which is another issue with the auto logout now being implemented. I have a support ticket in progress to see if that auto sign-off time can be delayed/modified. Sometimes I am just reviewing a game I played, but not in a LIVE game. I would hate to be getting logged out all the time while doing that. On top of that, my login button does not seem to be working properly right now. So I guess I have to shut down Stars and reboot. That would kill my Instant Hand History on the game I want to review, however, so that's a last resort. Will see where this goes going forward! Thanks!!
