To bad they will be the fourth or fifth best option in the U.S. It will take years for them to be states wide and some states will ring fence their players keeping the revenue for themselves ie California killing poker liquidity once and for all. pokerstars has already given the players the finger.

I personally am not a fan of PokerStars, but I hope for you Americans that this is a step in the right direction. And hopefully sometime soon, there will be no restriction for you American players.

Title is a little misleading, I thought there was a breakthrough.

As for PokerStars being behind all the US facing sites, it won't take long for the Americans to go to Stars which has the best consistent player pool, no waiting ages for a game to fill, if Stars goes nationwide in the US imho the other sites will die a slow death.

Does this mean, another million new players on PS, the number of players will grow much, plus full tilt poker players its a combo, the competition will be big, people will begin to move away from ps to smaller clients. Or i got everything wrong :D

At the moment it's only New Jersey, not whole USA.And yes,by reading the title I also thought that PokerStars is really coming back to USA.So,this will be something like party poker and 888 Poker which already have licenses to operate in New Jersey.

Currently PokerStars is NOT in the United States, next month PokerStars WILL be in the United States.

Frankly to me this news is not brought joy. Strong opponents . In the USA children are taught to play poker since 5 years. And weak players no.

Poker in the USA is almost national sport, so they are very hard to beat

Your talking nation wide, and their will be states, like California, Florida, New York that don't want to share liquidity. This is what we call ring fencing, meaning players only in the state of California can only play vs other Californians, also there will be a handful of states that may never pass online poker like Nebraska, Texas, Utah, etc. By the time if ever Stars goes nationwide, online poker will pretty much be dead, your looking at 5-10 years minimum.
